What's the most frustrating thing about New England College?

Tiffany

Not able to take more than one class. I want to be full time and take at least two classes but I don't have enough money

This may sound crazy, but the most frustrating thing about my school is the food. We have limited options and I am a vegitarian, so I have very limited options. We dont have many healthy options either and as a athlete it is important to eat healthy. It's extremely frustrating to pay so much for a school where the food is so horrible.

The most frustrating thing about school is being away from home. Since I’m from Philly, I’m not use to a lot of people and in Henniker, New Hampshire, it’s different. Here in Henniker, it’s hard to adjust to a very small community. The air is fresher, the people are nicer. Being away from my family is hard enough and then there is college homework that gets over whelming at times. Everything changes once you get into college computer homework. Just because I’m a young adult, teachers imply that I know how to work a computer.

One of the most frustrating things about NEC is something that is actually unavoidable for this type of small, rural college. Unfortunatley some classes, specifically in the science and mathematics departments are only offered every other fall or spring and that scheduling makes it challenging to take all of the required courses as a transfer student. This situation is merely frustrating, but expected given the small school size and number of faculty memebers.

The most frustrating part of my school is the cost and the limits on financial aid that I can recieve from the school. Tuition keeps getting highter but the financial aid has been not rising to meet it, making it very difficult to figure out how to pay for school.

Bethany

Sometimes it may feel like there is noone who can help you with the problems you face in and outside of the classroom. However there is always someone who you can talk to whether it is your teachers, friends, family, coaches, etc.

Finding employment for students who do not qualify for financial aid and federal work study is very hard if you are a student who does not own a car.

Cari

You're in a small rural town so if you don't have a car it's hard to get around.

The most frustrating thing for me while being at college was not being able to complete any education courses my first year. I understand that the college wants the students to get as many required classes done as possible.
