There is a stereotype that students at my school are heavily into drugs. This stereotype is not really true. Our school is more open about teaching people how to do drugs safely, all schools have drugs.

The stereotype New College of Florida is that we're a bunch of drug-taking, philosophical hippies. While there is a drug culture- though students are allowed to opt out and not be ostracized by it!- and the majority of students go barefoot or model birkenstocks while talking about politics or the real meaning of life, the stereotype isn't all that correct! Students don't drink excessively or do drugs, some prefer shoes- and ban birkenstocks from their personal closet- and many don't feel like debating trivial things, such as why cheddar is better than provolone.

The stereotypical New College student would either be a hipster or a hippie. A stereotypical New College student would also do a lot of drugs and shower infrequently. Above all else, though, I think we're a college full of nerds and it's fantastic.
