Mt. San Jacinto College is a wonderful institution. It is accredited and the number one college in the Inland Empire, which speaks volumes about its quality. Not only do they care for their students, but they also cater to a wide variety of students with diverse needs and interests. The college offers a range of sports and numerous clubs that can attract different students' interests, providing opportunities for everyone to get involved and find their community. They also have numerous support groups, whether it’s counseling, mental health support, tutoring, financial aid assistance, or scholarships. Not to mention they have a 15-minute lobby to see a counselor in case you need one right away. We all know how hard counseling appointments can be to get! Especially Last minute! Furthermore, MSJC has three campuses, allowing students from many parts of town to attend this college conveniently. The college offers many online and hybrid classes to accommodate students' schedules and learning preferences, ensuring education is accessible to everyone. One of the standout features of MSJC is its affordability. Not everyone can afford a university education, but MSJC makes higher education accessible with fair pricing. Personally, I am going to graduate debt-free from this college with an RN license, which is a significant achievement. My experience at MSJC has been incredibly positive, with fun and engaging students, as well as caring and supportive professors. I highly recommend this college to anyone looking for a quality education, supportive community, and a path to a successful future.

For this review, I only ever went to the Menifee campus because that's where I learned. The campus on the outside is rather nice, embracing the outdoors, leaves a lot to be cherished when it's the spring season which is the best time of the year to wander around the campus when you're waiting for class. The library and food services aren't too shabby, the library has technology that you can borrow for classes which is a nice hand to those who need it, and the food they serve isn't expensive and rather good compared to when someone just gets out of high school. The classes are rather fine and the classrooms are rather tidy, the online classes are mixed for me depending on the subject, and some of the classes that say they don't need a textbook are actually a lie, you'll need to be very sure if you need a textbook or not. The school has a decent amount of stuff to offer but isn't a final destination for people, there's a good amount of associates degrees that let you transfer to a higher education that you should take advantage of.

Mt San Jacinto Community College is a good school to get into right of college due to you not spend a lot of money on universities, you can go to community college and save up to transfer to a Cal State or university. The campus looks pretty safe and the environment looks good and safe as well.

MSJC is like that oft-ignored, dusty little book at the bottom of the bookshelf. Its Menifee campus, which sits adjacent to a dirt field, is so small that it can be walked across in a matter of minutes. And to match, it has classrooms that would feel more at home on a high school campus. But picking this little book up and flipping through a couple of its pages reveals that its lackluster exterior belies the quality of its contents. Consider the small classrooms: though visually unimpressive, they should be a welcome sight for anyone looking for quality education since they limit the college’s professor-to-student ratio to one where each student can receive adequate attention from their professors. And, as it happens, MSJC's professors are top-notch; during my two years at the college, I had amazing professors for a variety of subjects, from English and body-conditioning to psychology and anatomy-and-physiology. What most of them shared, in addition to being great instructors in the technical sense, was a genuine passion for the subject they taught. And this passion often rubbed off on me and inspired me to continue working hard towards realizing my dreams and passions. And what’s more, like the perfect conclusion to an amazing book, many of them were genuinely interested in the future success of their students. For example, I had a professor who would devote some time every week to highlight opportunities that he thought would help his students succeed in transferring to four-year universities despite those opportunities often having absolutely nothing to do with his class. So yes, it is true that MSJC does not have a large, fancy-looking campus with great dining options and exciting campus life. But we should all know this by now— never judge a book by its cover.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back and talk to myself as a high school student, what a blessing it would be! Truth be told, I did poorly in high school, but now I am attending college which I saw as a new beginning. Now that I know it is important to keep the grades up; now that I know it is wise to discipline yourself in doing your homework and studying; now that I know all these things I would encourage myself more on doing those things. I would let myself know the great things you will experiences with a great high school GPA. I would let myself know that you must study the syllabus, no matter how unimportant you believe it is. I would warn myself not to get attached to becoming a "class clown" because that will not work in the college life. Many things I would advise myself of but the thing that is most important is advising me that though college could be stressing at points, the friends & staff you meet are such a blessing. When you're stressed, when you are going under pressure with mid-terms, you will always have someone there to encourage you.

  5. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

When I talk about my school, I brag about how it saves me lots of money by going to a community college for my freshman year of school. Only paying five thousand dollars per year as opposed to twenty or thirty thousand dollars really makes a difference financially. I'm also happy with the community college I'm going to because the campus has a brand new library and learning center. It's nestled in the city of Menifee, and easy to get to for students from Temecula, Murrieta, or Lake Elsinore.

  6. What's unique about your campus?

The best thing about MSJC for me is the variety of classes available and the accesibility. I have a complicated schedule as it is and being able to have a wide selection of times to be able to choose my classes definately helps. I have to combine four schedules on a daily basis. My schedule, both of my children's school schedules, and my husband's schedule, which includes both his jobs. MSJC has given me an opportunity more than anything to be able to get a college education even with my crazy schedule.

Mount San Jacinto is the second fastest growing community college in the U.S. This can be a positive and a negative because they have a variety of people going there but it is also harder to get into the classes that people need. If the school could get more funding from the state next year, they will better serve the students attending.

  11. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

One thing that I wish I had known before I came to this school is how to organize myself. If I had known this before I attended my classes, I would have been able to focus more on my work and less on stressing out about what I was missing. Now that I have realized that organization helps tremendously, I know that it will help me to pass my classes. Having my books on time and my stationary ready, I know that I won't fall behind and can study hard in and out of school.

  12. What kind of person should not attend this school?

The people I see that tend to give up and waist not only their time but the valuable time of the professors as well, could careless if they pass the class or not. People shouldn't attend my school if they do not understand what they want to do with their lives and what it takes to accomplish their goals. It is important to have a clear vision of their future if they want to succeed.

  13. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

As a non-traditional student there were things that I choose MSJC. First, the onsite child development center. I have two children that are under the age of six. Being able to be near my children was very important to me considering all the time I am going to sacrifice for my education. Secondly, I chose MSJC because of the honors program. This is one way I am able to distinguish myself from my peers and, in the future, from the other applicants that I will be compared to when I apply for transfer to a 4-year institution.
