I feel that Morgan State is a wonderful university. My time at Morgan has allowed me to broaden my horizons on the way I live my life. If it was not for this institution, i would not have networked with the right people, nor would I have figured out a plan for me to live my way but in a successful manner. In my opinion, there are many good things about the school. It is really easy to make friends who can help you pass the times when you aren't in class. I also enjoy the marching band here. They play a lot of good music and are definitely an exciting thing to see. The school is actually a decent size. Whenever I'm on campus i usually can be found in the Murphy Fine Arts building. I stay in there because my major is music. The location of Morgan State is not in too bad of a spot for a "college town" . It is kind of in the center of anything fun to do. Getting anywhere from the university is just a matter of taking a 10-15 minute ride. The administration here is definitely one of a kind. The faculty is easy to get along with so its easy to take care of any situation that comes during your time at Morgan. One experience that I will never forget is my first day of school at Morgan State University. I met a lot of different individuals who shared some of the same goals as me and would help me find the building tools to get started on trying to find a career. One complaint that used to be a big thing was the parking system. Thanks to the new university President, Dr. David Wilson, this problem has been fixed.

When I first arrived at Morgan State University I was disappointed in the lack of resources and the poor state of some of the learning facilities. As I matriculated I learned that college and the experiences and knowledge you gain from it are completely up to you. It is what you make of it. Attending a Historically Black College gave me a since of pride and a little more knowledge about my race and ethnicity. I am glad i chose to attend Morgan State University.

Morgan State University is one of the top schools in the nation for producing African American Architecture and Engineering students. As an architecture major my main job is designing. All of my classes are my favorite because Architecture and Urban Design is my passion. Any opportunity I get to do those is a blessing. Morgan State offers my concentration with skilled professors in each subdivision of Architecture. No matter what class I am taking, it is not hard to find someone on staff that specializes in that subject. The teachers are overly educated and have no problem helping a student when asked to do so. Classes in Architecture often run over because there are so many people in the program that are passionate about it. History and Theory classes turn into detailed discussions of everyone's experiences and tastes, and studios turn into a mock architectural firm meeting. Every student is willing to help the next and professor are no exception. I love Morgan State University and the School of Architecture and Planning.

My overall opinion of Morgan State is that it is an exceptional University in more ways than one. The campus is not so big that you are a needle in a haystack, but it is also not so small that you run into the same person everyday. I can keep in touch with a small circle of friends and still manage to see a new person every week. The class sizes are perfect also. Being an architecture major, most of my classes are studio styles and some universities pack studios tight. Morgan State is not like that, we have intimate class settings where the professors and students all know each other. That alone, sold me on the school. Most of my time is spent in the studio on design projects, but I still make time to attend Student Organization events in the University Student Center. The most common complaint from the students is housing but Morgan is located in such a perfect position that there are plenty of reasonable apartment complexes within a safe distance of the school. Most housing companies cater to the students by keeping the cost of rent low and some even accept financial aid as a form of payment. Morgan State University was not my first choice of schools, but I definitely do not regret attending. It is an amazing institution that I am proud to be a part of.

The best thing about Morgan State University is that help is available at every corner and absolutely no student is left alone to struggle through their College experience. I spend most of my time in the Engineering Building on campus in an effort to stay ahead, especially with assignments.
Morgan State University is one of the best Universities in Maryland and I am proud to be a student of this institution.
I appreciate the effort and emphasis that is placed on students realizing their potential, performing a more vital role in society and having overall pride in themselves, and therefore, Morgan provides not just educational enrichment to students, but enrichment related to every facet of their being.

I love my HBCU!!! There are minute things that I would change such as the food, extended library hours, etc. But overall, I am quite please with my choice to attend Morgan State University. School pride is a major factor at MSU and its shown on a daily and consistent basis. MSU isn't too big or too small so you'll definitely get the "college experience" but you won't feel like you're being smoothered.
The administration's door is always open and if they can't solve a problem, they will take you to the person who can. MSU is literally a family because of how close everyone is.
When I tell people I attend MSU they have all kinds of "ooohhh" and "ahhhhhs."

My position on Morgan State University is that it is in a state of limbo. Morgan still relies on their past to try and secure their future. Morgan should focus on getting their administration and suportive positions in order. Their financial aid department is in dire need of some revamping. Morgan is a large school, but the class sizes are relatively small in comparison, I do get some flack about going to this school because I am white and a minority at the college. I spend all of my time while on campus in class. I do not have the luxury to stay at school any longer than neccesary. Morgan is next to a "college town", Towson, which has a variety of stores, restaurants and entertainment. I think the administration is personable. If I need to talk to the Dean of my major she is right in the same building as my classes. She even talks to me in the hall, knows my name and my situation. She is a great asset to Morgan. Controversy on campus is always with crime in and around campus, with robberies, mugging and drugs. School pride can be seen all around, everyday. People who attend campus proudly wear Morgan gear on a daily basis. I cannot come up with anything unusual about Morgan. I will always remember winning grand prize for my entry in my freshmen year, majors final project. Financial aid is always a topic of complaint. I almost didn't attend Morgan due to their lack of ability in the financial aid department to file my paperwork in a timely manor.

Overall, Morgan State University is a very fine institution. The best thing about this school is the many different opportunites that are basically thrown at students in all the different fields of study.Morgan has no shame in awarding excellence and uplifting the students who perform very well in their academics. There are too many scholarships to choose from. The campus size is large enough for each different department to have their own space, also it is small enough that students will not run out of breath going from class to class. When I tell people that I attend Morgan State I ususally get negative feedback because people are unfamiliar with the Baltimore area and decide that Historically Black Universities and Colleges(HBCU's) are not as great as other schools. I also thought so at first but quickly changed my mind as i got to know more about the school. The only thing I would change about Morgan State is the lack of school pride. I would love to see more people attend the football and basketball games and wear the school's color more often. A moment that I will never forget is when Barack Obama was the presidency in 2008, the whole school and surrounding community connected and celebrated that very historic moment in time. Although students complain about teachers and classes, I believe that professors only challenge students to reach their ultimate potential. Morgan State is constantly improving to better connect with their students and promote excellence and i believe that the school is a fine stepping stool for individuals to face the real world and would not change my experience for anything.

Morgan is a good school overall because it motivates students to work harder by rewarding not only students who are excelling (3.5-4.0) academically but also those who are doing good doing (3.0).
Morgan is the ONLY university that I know of which gives students Book Grants. You do not have to be in the Honors Program to receive the book grants, ANYONE can receive it as long as his/her GPA is a 3.0 or above. I Have been receiving not only the book grants but also tuition assistance from the honors program and I'm not even in it.
The campus buildings are not too far,the longest it will take for one to get to the furthest building is 10 minutes. So, it is very convenient.
Our New Student Center is beautiful and we have a PNC Bank in it and ATMs located throughout the campus.
Our ALL-GLASS New Library was voted #10 in the nation!!!!
Morgan also has an ESCORT service which is my favorite. I live in an off-campus housing so when it is dark and I need to get to the Library, I just call them and a Morgan Police Picks me up and takes me there and if I'm on campus and need to go back to my room, vice versa! AWESOME Security.
I can go on and on about Morgan but I will leave you with this, Morgan State Choir is the BEST in the State in classical music and in the past year we have been to Columbia, Russia and China. And we sang at the inauguration of President Barrack Obama. Great Engineering program and fraternities, sororities, athletics etc. You will definitely find an organization of interest!

What most people love about Morgan State is the focus on the black experience. Its classification as a historically black college transcends the curricular aspects, permeating the daily activities of students and staff, and making for a well-rouded, community feel on campus.
The fact that Morgan State is an HBCU by no means relegates its population to origins of a singular race. The university attracts students from all over the world, including countries like Nigeria, Kenya, Australia, China, and numerous islands of the West Indies.
The university is situated in a residential area. Local malls and shopping centers are a short distance away and are accessible by bus. The student population is between 7,000 - 8,000 of which most are commuter students. Most students rent rooms in shared houses around campus, or rent apartments in one of the apartment complexes around.
There is quite a lot of school pride. The annual homecoming events are always very well attended and feature returning alumni in big numbers. While there have been complaints in the past about the school's administration, the new president, David Wilson, has already done much to correct that, implementing new policies, and even beautifying the campus.
