Many organizations are popular in their own way. It really all depends on what your interest are and what you want to become involved with on campus. Groups that I am involved in are the Women's Bowling Team at Morgan State University, the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, the Young Women's Christian Association, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, the National Pan-Hellenic Council at Morgan State University, and a volunteer with the Lutheran Campus Ministries Outreach Program at Morgan State University. Students do not leave their dorms open and I would not recommend for any person to do that. That is a safety risk and unless you have insurance on your dorm room, which is recommended, the school is not responsible for things stolen. Athletic events are very popular especially when they are live for ESPN U and other sports networks. Most students will attend almost every home game. The dating scene is pretty good on campus. There is a good enough ratio of men to women. I met my closest friends while as a freshman at Morgan State University. I also met many friends by being involved in organizations. That is the quickest and easy way to meet people. If I am awake at 2am on a Tuesday I am probably doing homework or coming in from hanging out with friends. The traditional events that happen every year include homecoming and I Love Morgan Week! This is a great week full of free stuff to do on campus. It depends on the person. There are people who party all the time and people who choose what party's they will attend. The fraternities and sororities are important on Morgan State University because of the history that is connected with them. We have had great men and women who have been students or faculty that have been apart of these fraternal organizations. As well as one fraternity, Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Incorporated, was founded on Morgan's campus. Overall these organizations perform great community service projects and forums that get the whole school interested in their cause and of course wanting to join. There are many things that you can do on a weekend that does not involved drinking or smoking. You can go to parties and just hang out with friends, go to the mall, go to eat or see a movie, hang out at a friends house or enjoy the outdoors. There are also sporting events and other events that happen on the weekend. There are enough things to do in this world that do not involve drugs.

Every group at the school is important they have different events in the student center almost every school day. From family feud, to dance tournaments, to deep discussions on domestic violence. Fraternities and sororities are very popular at the school though they are plenty other groups at the school they people are about of. Such as SMOOTH which is an organization for men at the school to Leading Ladies an organization for women. Its a group for every person they are all so broad and different. Their arent that many parties on the school campus, because we are located in a city most people just go to the clubs, and the promoters will provide busses for those who dont drive at the school. Student life is fun for every kind of person, homecoming is always fun and I Love Morgan Week in the spring. The does a very good job of pleasing all the students from different areas, with throwing parties at the clubs that has different rooms such as a reggae room, regular music room, and a room with a gogo band which is music listened to in the DC area. Social life is very fun at morgan, though i did not go here my freshman year so i do not know about dorm life, but I do know from living in on-campus apartments that you shouldnt leave your door unlocked.

The most popular students organizations are the women of NCNW or the National Council of Negro Women and the men of S.M.O.O.T.H or Strong Men Overcoming Obstacles Through Hardwork. The most popular student activities and groups are undoubtedly the fraternities and sororities. While they do not live together in houses as on most other campuses, the sense of belonging is quite strong. In fact, most student organizations subconsciously model their groups after fraternities and sororities. Some of the popular organizations on campus are Leading Ladies, YWCA, National Society of Black, National Association of Black Journalists, Peer Counsellors, and D.I.V.A.S for A.C.T.I.O.N which I was involved with. The Dilligent Intelligent Vibrant Astute Sistahs for All Changes Towards Improving One's Nation was an advocacy group made up of young women of color between the ages of 17 and 29. The organization addressed issues of sexual and reproductive health by providing resources and information, and also encouraging safer sex practices. Most freshman students tend to make friends with roommates, classmates, and others who live in the same dorms as they do. Most of my closest friends in my freshman year were girls who lived in my dorm, and some of my friends from elementary and high school who also ended up at Morgan. It is quite common to see students sitting outside of their dorms with friends especially when a hall has lost visitation rights, or visitation hours are over. The really big parties take place at the very beginning of the semester, and at the end. Most students frequent 18 & over clubs, or bars in the area. Most weekends, students go home to their families and so there aren't that many students left on campus. During the weekends preceding important exams, students stay on campus in order to study in the library. Study groups are quite popular. Also, the students only last year, lobbied the administration for 24-hour library services.

I ahve no idea what the most popular groups are, but the Morgan bears football and basketball are very popular. I am not involved in any group. I do not have time to spend on campus above and beyond class time. I would assume students in dorms keep their stuff locked up tight. No telling if you will become a victim of a crime. Athletic events are very popular, much more than guest speakers. Live theater is popular with the students and outside guests. I would assume the dating scene is good. I see many single people and many couples around campus. My closest friends I met through classes in my major. If I was awake on a tuesday at 2am I would have to be working on a project otherwise that just wouldn't happen. The school has many yearly events including homecoming. From my experience of being on campus and litening to people talk there is a lot of partying going on in and around campus. I think Morgan takes their sororities and frats very seriously. Last weekend I celebrated the holidays with my children and family. I do not drink so anything I do never involves drinking. I spend all my time with my children doing family things, volunteering at my childrens school and of course doing homework and studying.

I am involved in the International Students Association(I.S.A) which is an organization that tackles stereotypes from different cultures as well creates a sense of unity to individuals from all areas of the world. As well as being in I.S.A, i am involved in the Association for Information Technology Professionals (A.I.T.P) which is a organization that allows me to learn things pertaining to my major, compete in computer programming competitions and meet with professionals in the IT field. The dating scene is very live at Morgan, I don't think it is possible to matriculate through Morgan without being in at least ONE serious relationship. There are students from all over the world who attend Morgan and the different faces and styles brings about various attractions and interesting hook-ups.
