Morehead State University Top Questions

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Taylor

I wish I would have prepared myself better to be on my own.

Jamey

I wish I had known the atmosphere of the town in which the school resides. Morehead State was in a small town in rural Kentucky. I would consider Morehead State a suitcase school. This means that everyone goes home on the weekend and the campus is empty. Finding out about the possible activities surrounding the areas would have been beneficial in choosing a college.

I wish I had known that the campus was incredibly 'hilly', as in the incline I walk to classes makes me almost collapse in exhaustion each morning. I also wish that I had known that the financial aid department always seems to lose the paper work you turn in but you are never notified of it until you recieve a bill stating you owe your life savings to the college. One good thing I wish I knew before I came here is that greek life is actually really awesome here and not cliche like other colleges.

alex

No its really doesnt matter just not used to people liking cheerleading more then football

Michael

I felt that I knew everything well already.

I wish I would have known how to study better. It was hard for me to adjust when I was a freshman so I got a lot of "C"s and now I am paying for that. I wish I would have been more prepared to to make good grades because once your GPA is low it is hard to bring up. Now that I have been in school 5 years I finally feel like I know how to study, but no matter what it seems that it is never going to be enough to get a 3.0 GPA.

Jacqueline

I wish I'd known to be more careful when it came to taking unncessary classes.

Courtney

That this isn't high school, and that I actually had to apply myself. That just because I can do something doesn't necessarily mean I should. That my original major wasn't for me, before I wasted 2 years on it.

Terresia

I wish I would have know how much I am going to be in debt when I graduate, I didnt realize how much it was to come here. I came here for a $250 cheerleading scholarship, and thats all the financial aid I recieve.

About the town that surrounds it, or lack of. It turned out to be bette in the end because there is no distractions that would take me away from campus.
