Merrimack College is an okay school. There isn’t a lot of academic support and it’s difficult to get involved in certain activities. There aren’t many options for classes based on your major. I would say that the time spent at college so far has not been the best experience as a current student.

Ashley - 11/03/2023

Overall, I have truly enjoyed my experience her so far. The campus is really nice and I would say 90% of my professors have been really great at teaching course material. They are really helpful when trying to secure at least one internship during your time there and there are a lot of opportunities to work on developing yourself professionally to prepare you for after graduation. They also offer a masters program which if you decide to apply to after graduation, you receive a significant reduction in your tuition cost.

Merrimack is a great, small school. I love how enclosed the campus is, which makes it safe and has a "home" feeling. There is always something to do for every population or students, whether it be the on campus bar for those 21+, bingo, sporting events, etc. It is a very pretty school as well that is continuing to expand.

Joshua - 05/11/2020

I love the school and the campus. I struggled in my first semester getting acclimated, but I am happy to have stuck it out. They have a great resources available on campus to help guide you in the direction you need, especially in deciding a Major.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

My college expierence has made me a better person overall. When I left highschool, I had no idea what I even wanted to do with my life and at the end of the summer, I chose to attend Middlesex Community College. That was the best decision of my life, because it opened up my eyes to a new type of education. I took several classes in different majors and finally found my niche in Communications. It took me an extra year to graduate with my associates, but along the way I made a ton of friends and got to participate in several school activities. I was never like that in highschool. I was always the person who hated school, and wasn't involved. I thank Middlesex for allowing me to continue my education and help me appreciate the value of it. I now attend Merrimack College in North Andover, and I am still getting used to it. Its hard going from a city campus to one that is set in the middle of a town, but I make do. I have joined a sorority and I am looking to join the Spanish club. I want to be extraoridinary.

  4. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

In my opinion, I believe the "worst thing" about my school is our budget when it comes to outside activites. If Merrimack wanted to have a big concert, it could take a long for all of us to enjoy a huge concert featuring a big artist just because we don't have a huge budget in our club/organization committee.

  11. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

Merrimack College is a Catholic school which I find unique becuase they require the students to take two religion courses during their time at Merrimack. I think that by choosing from a variety of religion courses to take and taking those classes truly shows a new and different side to viewing life for the student. Merrimack also allows students to subsitute a class with an internship which is unique because not only is it accredited but it allows the student to further learn and explore a potential career of their choice.
