It was the perfect community college for me to obtain my prerequisite courses during my post-bacc learning years. The teachers were phenomenally prepared to teach, and I feel prepared for the more difficult classes of my Master's program which will be based on the information I learned at LACC.

Los Angeles City College is a very friendly campus with great instructors as well as a lot of places around to eat or cafes. The classroom is always a safe place for discussions, helping aids, and tutoring. I always feel safe walking on this campus regardless of the metro stop because there are plenty of security officers as well as police men protecting us. I would recommend anyone that wants to take classes for fun or planning to transfer to other institutions to attend here because they're willing to help you and guide you through classes and financial help.

  3. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I had seen a guidance counselor right away. I was unaware of certain information that would have given me a better experience during my time at LACC. One thing in particular I was unaware of was this year's graduation deadline. I was expecting to finish my 2-year degree in June 2010 and move on to 4-year University, but I missed the graduation application deadline because I was unaware of the date.

  6. What kind of person should attend this school?

I think anyone and everyone can attend this school. However, only those with determination and commitment to better their lives through education will be deserving of a degree or diploma. But in general, anyone who wants to learn life skills, put themselves to the test, push themselves to the limit; people who are willing to sacrifice time and energy, and to prove to themselves and to others what they're capable of, especially those who have other commitments.
