Las Positas College is a great school to prepare you for transfer to any rigorous school in the state. Professors are often readily available and want to help you succeed, classes are offered both in person and online, and resources are provided to all who attend. Overall the only downside of the school is its long semesters, with them being 18 weeks per session.

Jeanette - 09/28/2022

There are some professors that definitely needs to retire or go to some type of camp to revamp their teaching styles because not everyone learns the same way. Overall, the campus is very beautiful and big. There's lots of parking spaces available depending when class times are, it's usually busy around afternoons to late evenings. The science building is where I spend most of my time and I love the new lecture rooms on the 2nd floor. The labs are big enough to move around and clean.

I think Las Positas Community College is a great and affordable place to begin pursuing an education. After graduating High School, I wasn't sure if college was for me. I joined the Army Reserve, then had a bunch of odds and ends jobs. But after applying to and enrolling at Las Positas College, within the first semester, I realized community college was within my capabilities. From there, I applied for more classes until I found Philosophy as my desired major. It was the professors and the accessibility of the campus itself that made college an opportunity for me. Las Positas provided that opportunity.

  8. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

To me this school is unique because it offers a certificate in viniculture since the school is located in wine country. The school has it's own vineyards which I think is great since it really gives the students following that course hands on experience. Another aspect of the school that I find unique is that its small size helps create a sense of family between everyone since you get to know and see a lot more people more of the time.

  14. What kind of person should not attend this school?

Since this school is so impacted now due to our economy and budget cuts, it is obvious that someone who is not looking to use their education towards future goals should not attend. A vast majority of the students at this school are very focused on transferring to other schools, which makes their classes very important to them. I do believe that someone who is not taking the classes wholeheartedly should not be there because they are taking the place of someone who could put taking that class and getting that grade to good use.

When I brag to my friends about my junior college I tell them that my professors are very congenial and excessable. When I have questions about tests or homework I am able to reach them online or in their offices. I also find that the student body is very nice and supportive of each other. In addition, the campus is very impressive. They are expanding it by building new facilities. One of which will be the new performing arts theatre. I wish I could take advantage of it , but I will be transferring in the fall.
