What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The fact that the lack of funding and regulation is leading to a more and more bloated student population. This leaves room for lesser qualifications, and bigger class sizes, not to mention the increase in prices of various things. Also, it fills up and overflows into the community, taking most of the jobs up that are in town and at the school.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I had known to be more myself and not so shy. Being shy made my first year of school really hard on me. I have since grown more out of my "shell" and enjoy my time here way more than before.

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Kutztown University is a unique school compared to the other schools I considered. This university is in a more rural area and has about 10,000 students. Also, Kutztown has the double major option which is the best. The community is has a local sense of food, coffee, and is a nice place for college students. Plus, my university has serveral coffee and espresso bars. In the community sells local, farm products which are healthly and on a inexpensive way of paying for local items at a grocery store.

What is your overall opinion of this school?
i think KU is definitely just the right size. it's not too big, it's not too small. KU has an active housing life, so there's always something to do in the halls. KU has a really cute little town to go with it but it's not necessarily a college town. we're frequented a lot by 'RepentAmerica' but we've gotten used to it, lol. the best thing about KU is how friendly people are. especially with a knit community in the residence halls.. your friends at KU suddenly become your family and it's an amazing experience. KU's administration is okay. it depends on what you're looking for. but the President of the college has actually responded personally to almost all of my emails to him about complains I have, so he is, at least, personable.

What is the stereotype of students at your school?
it's hard to define one stereotypical KU student. i mean, there are some who party and some who don't. a pretty decent assumption though is that they probably go home on the weekends. a lot of KU students live close. although i have been hearing that KU is earning its rep as a party school.. but with the dry campus and the small town atmosphere, there aren't really that many parties to worry about..

What are the most popular student activities/groups?
Popular groups? It depends. Greek life, although small, is fairly popular. Each major offers quite a few groups and clubs that attend to their own agenda. There's always something going on in each residence hall, too. There's lots of football games, sports games, etc. In the dorms, many students leave their doors open [staff are required to, but who wouldn't want to?] Housing and ACE [Association of Campus Events] is always bringing guest speakers and concerts. We've had Jason Mraz, and most recently Frank from Post Secret and Renee from To Write Love On Her Arms. They LISTEN to what you want to see. Bearfest is the coolest thing every year. It's a festival we hold at the end of the school year, and there's always a pudding slide! It's gross but so funny to watch people on it. People party, but not all the time. Usually on a [thirsty] Thursday, everyone is out at KU. but that's about it. I don't drink while I'm at school, and I have a lot of fun just hanging out, taking trips to the diner, going to the mall, it's a lot of fun.

What are the academics like at your school?
once you get past the general education classes in the 150 seat lecture halls on campus, the teachers almost always know your name. class participation isn't completely common unless you're in a class where everyone is engaged. KU has a small variety of interesting classes in all different parts.. i mean, i study marketing and I took an Astronomy class. KU doesn't have completely strict requirements, you have to keep a 2.0 before academic probation. but they do help you find a job.

Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?
like i said, there's not really a lot of stereotypes. KU students do tend to be suitcase students - they do leave a lot on the weekends - but there's always people around, especially in the traditional living halls where half the staff is required to stay each weekend. KU students also do like to party, but it's never in excess - there's always more to do on campus or with schoolwork or even just in the halls.
