Since I am doing an online program....I think that a stereotype is that students are all workers with families and careers who are trying to expand their education. I find a lot of my fellow classmates all have such experiences. But that makes it wonderful! I have had the honor of learning with those in the military, parents, grandparents and various careers. It brings many different perspectives to the table.

I do not think that there is a stereotype as you might think like geeks or jocks but rather I think that there are people who assume going to school online is easier. I can tell you that this is not accurate. I have been a student for a little over three years now and while I love being able to turn in my work at different times of the day nothing else is easier. You have to be self-disciplined and know how to manage your time. You do not go to a classroom where you can sit down and have someone looking at you telling you to do this. So in conclusion there will always be stereotypes wherever you go but that does not mean you should listen to them. I know I am glad I didn't.

Since I'm an online student I have come to learn that the most common stero-type would be the 'Dinosaurs' such as myself. The older students.

I don't think there are stereotypes attached to Kaplan University. I have never heard of any.

I think people have the misconception that online students have it easier, when in fact we really don't. We have strict deadlines that we have to stick to. If our work isn't submitted on time we get penalized for it. Unlike on campus schooling, if we miss a class we have to make it up or we lose points for that as well.

I study online, however, from the friends I have made most are parents. Parents is not a stereotype, but I don't believe the typical stereotype fits in this new era where school is done online.

There is not really a stereotype at my school as everyone is there to complete schooling while living there life.
