I attend school online so I am not sure of what activities go on at the campus. I have read about special projects where students get together to help the community around the holidays and other events.
I am in several honor societies and some of the projects we work on are community driven. One of the projects right now with the Ambassador and Leaders group is a reading program for the youth. We actually go to the schools and help children learn to read better. This project is amazing and allows me a way to give back to my community.

Kaplan University's online campus has many student groups and activities to choose from, including honor societies. One of the most popular honor societies is the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I am a member of this society, and let me tell you, my bank account thanks m for it. There are advantages to every group/organization you join. It may not be financial, or it may be financial and academic AND professional, it just depends on the group. Each field of study has groups/organizations just for them, but there are also groups/organizations that are school-wide, such as KU Ambassadors and Leaders. It truly depends on what you are looking for. Some groups are for studying, some for advancing your career, some for helping others, some for acknowledgement, etc.

There is an online chat for students called the student lounge where students can chat and get to know eachother. A popular honor club at Kaplan is NSCS National Society of Collegiate Scholars. This club can provide a student with many valuable lifetime connections.

Their are many clubs and organization one can get involved in. Joining clubs and honor societies is a great way to get to know other students from all around and learn about cultural difference and diversity. I have had wonderful experiences with the NSCS and The Golden Key
