The professors make their students priority by giving email, and sometimes even home phone numbers so we can get help anytime, There are virtual offices to post any questions, just like going into a on campus office. They are checked by professors everyday. There is a career networking center, optimal resume, and honor societies. We have discussion boards where the professor posts questions and we have to respond to it, as well as respond to our peers. We do synchronized seminars for classes, and they are great. The students can stay in seminar after class and discuss things, or get on AIM to study together. All professors have times each day that they are on AIM and available to answer any questions.

What I love about my school is that I will have repeat professors and they remember me which is great. I also have repeat students, that makes you feel like your really at a campus school. My favorite classes are where I've had the same professor and I know how they grade. Like right now I have a repeat professor and I'm going to request him again for my next class. I feel the classes are even more challenging because it's online and you are basically on your own. Even though you have support, you do need to be motivated and independent.

The Academics at Kaplan University are very challenging, yet rewarding. I always walk away with a ton of knowledge and skills. The way that Kaplan University is set up is to ensure that each student is challenged, and is always kept being engaged in things that will benefit his/her future.

At Kaplan University you have the opportunity to attend a college campus or attend classes online. In the online class environment there is a great amount of participation from students, carrying conversations about the week's assignment. In the online courses, classes start on Wednesday at 12:00 am and end Tuesday at midnight. You're given tasks that need to be completed and because of the online community, as a student, you are able to complete those assignments and discussions on your time, whether it be in the morning, on a lunch break, when the kids go to sleep, or late night. Anytime you have questions, there is always someone to answer them, your peers, professors, and tutors. They are your support system because they all want to see you succeed in college and your career.

Two of my favorite class were actually two of the most challenging. The first is Contemporary Nutrition and the second one is Public Health. They are my favorite because in the beginning I absolutely hated them, but a few weeks into the term, I fail in love with the way they were shapping my personal life and sharpen my knowledge. The most unique class I am currently taking is a Food Science Lab where I get to study the science behing baking and cooking properly.
Some students do have intellectual conversations outside class, especially when they have to do group projects. Also, class participation is mandatory, that's one of the way to achieve success.

On the topic of academics at Kaplan University, for an online school it is very interactive. Professors and students learn each other well over the 10 week course terms and you even develop personality profiles on your students through webinar and discussion board interaction. Out side of class you can converse with your professors online through email, AIM and even telephone conversations. With the students, many of them have networking accounts on places like Facebook. On Facebook some students even become a part of a networking study group online where they meet once a week to discuss issues with different course work and help each other stay on task with their assignments.

Yes, all of the prof's know the students by name and take the time to give extra help when needed. I looked into many schools before going to KU and out of all KU had the most to offer with the expectation of sucess in mind for every student.
I have actually liked all my classes, they are great discussions every week and lectures are the best. The requirements as for academics is at a high level, expecting a standard we, as students, are going to see out in the work force.
I do most of my study during the day while my kids are at school, the information is intense but easy to understand.

The professors do try and get to know you, at the beginning of every term one of the first assignments is an introductory discussion post. Here you can tell the class a little about yourself and upload a picture if you like. You also get to read not only the professors introduction but all of your other classmates as well. You can email your professor and classmates through the Kaplan online classroom or chat with them during seminar which is held weekly. Kaplan is definitely a university where their goal is to not only educate you but prepare you for work and help you find work. I am almost ready to graduate and I am already receiving emails about jobs that pertain to my degree.

At Kaplan my favorite class would be A&P or medical law and bioethics. As an online student I usually have two classes a term which a term lasts 10 weeks. Then you have a week off before you start your next term. All seminars are online and you participate in them for an hour and I think it's pretty neat to be able to attend class in your pj's if you want. All students in class actively participate with the professor during that hour and then you get credit for attending and participation. Pretty easy grade I think. We participate in a discussion board where we get graded on our initial post to the question and then participating with other students in response to their answers or yours. My major is Medical Office Management where I will be getting my Associates Degree in Applied Science. Our professors are on AIM so anytime we need them we can see when they are online or they may have a set time they are online and we can ask questions, or we can just email them through the schools email system. Each student has their own email address with the school where we can send our professors or other students email. I think the requirements are just right and that the education I am getting will help me in my career in the medical field.
