I find that the academics are just as they should be, where as some classes are simple, some are more challenging. The Academic Advisors try and help you manage your class schedule to where you are not taking two impossibly challenging classes at once. They usually try and set up one class that is a little easier with each class that is more challenging.
I was extremely scared of how I would do in a math class online. How in the world is this going to work, was my first thought. Math is my worst subject, and I was dreading the horrible grade and frustration of not having a live person. When I received my book in the mail I was even more nervous. Flipping through it, I had NO idea what was in it. However, when I was able to actually log into my classroom and get my first assignment, I started to read. It was like a light flipped on. I completely understood what they were saying. The book broke everything down for me. It gave me actual explanations of what was what and how to do it, as well as multiple examples. Attending the lecture helped a lot as well. Usually, any questions I still had were answered in the seminar. This brings me to another good point that everyone needs to consider, seminar times.
When you register for classes, there are usually numerous seminar times and days that you can choose from for each class. It is important to pick the right day. If you don't have a lecture until Tuesday, the last day of the week when all of your assignments are due, you my not have time to get all of your questions answered and then complete your assignment. Plus, what happens if your questions aren't answered, there is no guarantee that if you email your professor, she will respond in time to turn in your assignment. The best days to pick your classes are Wednesdays and Thursdays, in my opinion. This means, though, that you should read (or at least glance at) your materials as soon as you get them. That way, you will understand what is being discussed in class and you can go over any questions you may have in the seminar.
The academics are certainly not "easy" because this is an online school. The academics are on the exact course they should be. You should also try and stay mindful of what classes you are taking together. You would not want to take two extremely hard classes together all at once unless you know you are prepared and can handle it.

At Kaplan University Online you get plenty of one on one time with your professors. They have convienient online office hours and they respond quickly to emails. Most professors provide their phone numbers in case students need to contact them directly. Kaplan cares about your performance too, if you fall behind in a class you will get a call from an academic advisor. They will assist you with any problem you are having and do their best to help you get back on track. The work is just as hard as a real university, but Kaplan has a great library and tutors available to help students that need it. This is a school that cares about your education not just your money.

Kaplan University has alot to offer. The professors are all very personable and willing to take the time with each student to assure they succeed. Classroom participation is highly recommended as this is where you get to know your fellow classmates and learn from one another. Professors are always available via email and I have always received a timely response to any questions that arose even during holiday times. I feel the academic requirements are very realistic and devised so that one gains the knowledge necessary to gain employment in their field of study after graduation. Kaplan University also offers career assistance for obtaining a position based on the individuals degree.

Not being from the area I had to rely on word of mouth as to the reputation of Kaplan University. For the most part, everything I heard was impressive. However when I actually started to take some classes I realized a few things. Most people seem to view Kaplan as the "Plan B" so to speak. Drop out of high school? Can't seem to get your life together? Come to Kaplan! Sounds promising doesn't it? Now I'm not saying I dropped out of high school or my life was heading down a one way street to destruction, but even so they dropped the ball.

I had a hard time choosing, because I wanted to study all the courses presented. Students are cooperative during class on line, and always with good mod and humor. I loved "Juvenile Delinquence" course.

Professors do know my name by the second week , i guess it is because i stand out in class and i am always asking questions and involved in the the disscussion board. My favorite class was criminal law, i have always had an intrest in the class. My least favortie class is was civil litigation only reason why because the class work was too intense. Students must study everyday in order to understand the criteria of the week. Class participation is not mandatory but reccommended . Students are competitive with eachother , i guess it is to out do the other one in a race for the best grade in class. I feel very comfortable with the school academic requirements, it is not an easy one bt fair.I wold say it is a little bit of both , For a job it will fall upon the student on how well they studied through school and how they are willing to get out there and compete with others for the position they graduated for, also it i=never bad to learn something new.

The course normally consists of ten units (lessons) , The unit starts on wenesday and ends on the following teusday. All course is due on that teusday (unless the student is allowed accomadations.)
You normally post on the discussion board(s.) three time on the three diffent days. Your first post answers the discussion question(s) and it normally must be posted by saturday. The others two have to be replies to two classmate post's.
Kaplan students have siminar one a week for each class and and they give you a way to make up the the points if you miss siminar there may also be other task you have to do but these vary from class to class.
