J Sargeant Reynolds Community College Top Questions

This community college is so encouraging my student success. I attended a four-year (Virginia Commonwealth) that seemed to focus solely on my past mistakes and was not very encouraging of my future. The community college (J Sarge) on the other hand, seems more interested in the student standing before them than the record they have on a computer.

You get to set your class schedule around your work schedule. It's cheaper, and it's easier to transfer to a 4 year university through community college. It's a money saver.

I brag most to my friends about how inexpensive tuition is at my school, along with how convenient it is to take classes. The college offers online classes as well as night and weekend classes, and tuition is only about one hundred dollars per credit hour, which is way less expensive than four-year colleges.

I always brag on how much the teachers give the students so much homework. So far, my chemistry and English classes are my most stressful college classes because they move way too fast , and there is so much reading. Furthermore, the homework is long and will take you forever to finish. Another thing I brag about are the books and supplies. They are expensive nowadays; therefore, we have to save up months in advance. I hate that I had to pay over $600 for books this semester. My advice to everyone is scholarships and financial aid. They come in handy.

I tell them how I am so close to home and how it is so convenient to other places. I am never late to class and also my classes have, at most, 32 students in them which makes the learning environment more personal than compared to a lecture room/hall with 200 students. I get to ask my professors questions if I need help or something of the sort.

I have the most flexiable schedule.
