I know most of my professors because i have been to meetings with them, i like my classes and i spend alot of time at the library

Professors very a great deal as does calss isze in big lecture halls most don't know you're name however there are a few who take thetime to learn the names of the individuals that sit in the front or in a specific section/area. In smaller more calss specific classes the teacher does learn all your names and calls you out by name, it all just depends on the professors stylr of teaching and what they find important.

If I have small classes then yes professors know my name. I have intoduced myself to all of them but I doubt they remember my name if it it a big lecture. My favorite class would have to be Psych 131. My least favorite would have to be CI 201. Students study a lot i have seen. My major is elementary education k-6th. I believe that the education here is geared toward me getting a job.

Most professors will know your name, I have one class where i think the administrative personel don't know my name. Yeah there are some big classes but I guess it comes with the territory. I have a bunch of classes where the professors know my name and everyone else's name in the classroom and are always offering help.

I know that all of my professors know my name personally but I think that is due to the fact that I have taken the time to make sure that they do. I think students study quite a bit, a lot of that depends on your major though. I think the thing that I find most challenging about academics is that I came from a large high school, I graduated with about 600 and the things that I have learned are a lot different from the small town kids. Iowa State is definitly geared toward getting a job, I have seen so many opportunites that have proven this.

Many professors know my names. I am impressed with the faculty at Iowa State. I feel that they are approachable, helpful, and I haven't really had any bad experiences. I think that on the whole, Iowa State students are less intellectual than students at other universities.
Iowa State knowledge is very applicable to the working world. Many students are offered jobs upon graduating.

I think that Iowa State Academics are pretty good. There are a number of great teachers and for those large lecture classes there is a great tutoring program. I really enjoyed my department (Materials Science and Engineering), because we had small class sizes and for the most part GREAT teachers. I had to work hard, but it paid off. I know retained more than most people I met in grad school.

I think the classes here at Iowa State are really good. There are big classes, but you never feel lost or overwhelmed by them. I was suprised by that because I graduated with 44 students and had a class with about 300 students. It was a change but I never saw it as a problem. I was really scared that I would get called on but with 300 students there is always someone who will volunteer there opinion. I have only come across a few bad teachers and I think that is because of the language barrier that I had between them. All of the professors I have to seem to really care about you. If you take the time to get to know them they will get to know you.

My favorite class would be Biology 101 right now. The teacher has a big lecture and she knows almost everyones name and I found that pretty amazing. I took Astro 150 last semester for a little bit and I did not like it so I dropped it. It was way to complex for me. I believe that Iowa State is geared for both getting a job for the future and for learing to educate people.
