Describe the students at Iowa State University.

Ashley

At Iowa State I feel as though I am just a number, and I'm just another person paying an extremely high amount of money for tution. I don't feel like anyone cares how I do in my classes or what path I'm on, but I get like 5 letters if I'm two days late on making a tution payment. Seems as though its all about football and money here.

Alison

Iowa State has many cultural groups. I find it is very diverse and open environment and that most people are not demeaning towards people's race, religion, sexual orientation, or culture. I don't think anybody would feel out of place at iowa state because there is so much diversity and so many different groups that could fit any person. Students wear anything from jeans and a t shirt to black hair and chains to short skirts and low tops to designer everything to sweatpants.

Steven

Is very large and diverse. There are a million different people and there is always someone to hang around and something with.

Alex

There are definitely more males than females (since it's a science and technology school), but I see that as an advantage. A wide variety of social groups are represented at Iowa State, although there is a small minority population.

Ryan

Many of the students from Iowa State are from Iowa, Minnesota, or the Chicago area. However, the student body is still diverse. On campus you will see people wearing t-shirts, jeans, cute spring dresses, sweats, cowboy boots, and the list goes on, depending on the season. Students can participate in LGBT, MSA, the greek community, SCLA, ISU After dark, and many more activities.

Laura

GSB exists, but my only personal dealings with them has been to request funding for my student organizations.

Meredith

There is a large Asian community. Students wear anything from ISU garb to designer clothes to class.

Jessica

I LOVE our Greek Community. It is amazing and being a member has given me so many life lessons and opportunities. Being a part of a sorority has been one of the best things about my college career.

Valerie

The student body here at ISU is a very welcoming and warm group of people, like when i came here on a college visit everywhere i walked people i didn't even know would smile at me as i passed by them on the sidewalks.

Elizabeth

I feel that ISU's student body could be more diverse.
