Immediately when you step foot on campus, you feel like you are at home. From the amazing food in the dining hall to the astounding architecture, the campus and people make the area feel secure. The HeidelBean, an on-campus coffee shop, is a great place to grab a beverage and there are plenty of studying spots. Downtown Tiffin also always has something going on.

I love it! It's a small campus so everyone (including faculty) is really involved. The academics are great, the sports are great, and the arts are great. Class sizes are small, which I think is really productive when it comes to conversation and being able to meet with your professor. The freshman dorms aren't super great right now, but all dorm buildings have planned renovations. My favorite part of campus is our coffee shop! I have really enjoyed continuing my education here at Heidelberg.

The wrestling coach is a great speaker for the university. He is a wonderful example fo the caring and dedication that coaches and professors have at Heidelberg University. I am very excited about the opportunity to attend college there and cannot wait to get on campus and start taking my life and education forward.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

After completeling my first year of college, I realize the struggles that come with beginning college and living alone for the first time. Much of these are related to time management. Due to this, if I were given the opportunity to go back in time and give myself advice as a senior in high school, I would tell myself not to get too excited and get overinvolved. In college there are many ways in which a student can involve themselves with the rest of their peers. However, as a freshman, I made the mistake of being involved in too many different things and this caused me to have too much on my plate to handle in my second semester. This caused my grades and social life to suffer because I was involved in too many things and did not handle time management very well. I have learned that doing less things a little more thoroughly and working on my time management are better choices to make in my college career. If I had the opportunity to go back in time and give myself this advice before I had to learn its merits the hard way, I would, in a heartbeat.

  9. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I had some surprises which I didn't like learning, but I'm glad I didn't know them ahead of time, or else that may have discourged me from beginning. On a positive note, I probably would have liked knowing most of the instructors are incredibly gifted and dedicated. Being such a small campus one really can benefit from personal attention. Everybody knows everybody -- you never feel like just a name or a face.
