Though I love my school, and the impact it has had on my life thus far, I cannot deny the one aspect of Harding that almost every student hates: the location. Searcy, Arkansas is a tiny town compared to most. With a population of approximately 26,000, Searcy contains only about 2 miles of attractions, most of those being the many restaurants available only until 9 p.m. Harding University is the main aspect of small town Searcy, but if the worst thing I can say about the college is its location, it must be a pretty great place.

I personally feel as if I am being discriminated against based on my denomination. Coming to a Church of Christ school while being a Southern Baptist certainly puts a damper on my experience at Harding University. While I love this school unconditionally, I find that it can at times be both secular and exclusive. On top of the students occasionally believing your soul is damned due to your denomination, the school itself will not allow you to be a Residential Advisor, a campus job, unless you are a member of the Church of Christ.

I would venture to say that the emphasis put on clubs is the worst thing about my school. People take it very seriously.

I am not a person that likes to look towards the negative of any situation. I know Harding as well as any other universities will have its flaws, but I have chosen not to look at them. Some may say not being able to wear shorts to class would be a burden, but I see that Harding is preparing us for the workforce. Students will also say the curfew is unfair, but there aren't many positive things that take place after midnight anways. There's not really an awful thing about my school.

The worst thing about our school is mainly the lack of diversity present on campus. The total percentage of minorties is only 10 (Black, Asian, Hispanic, Native American, etc.) A lack of diversity hinders students from getting the most out of the college experience. Being exposed to different cultures and backgrounds lead to a better understanding and greater appreciation for each other.

The school taught from a narrowly conservative political stance. Other viewpoints were not embraced. This limited the academic freedom necessary for an institution of higher learning. The "cards were stacked" in favor of conservative viewpoints. Harding University needs more balance.

I would have to say the worst thing at my school would have to be the town we are in. Its a small town and other then a Wal-Mart there really isn't any where to go uless you want to drive an hour away.

I prefer a religiously and politically conservative campus community, but Harding could be categorized as "ultra-conservative." Some of their views were very dogmatic and those views sometimes negatively affected all campus policies including the academic environment and the social life of the students.

The worst thing about Harding University would be it's location. Harding has many wonderful people, but Searcy is a very boring town. If you have a good imagination and several friends who like to explore then Harding is a great place to be. However, for the people who need a mall every weekend this is not the school for you. Memphis IS only two hours away, and Little Rock only an hour but it quickly becomes very unaffordable to drive that disance on a consistent basis. Wal-Mart is about the best you can do here.

That they don't have a 24/7 library
