The best thing about George Washington University is that it is a very diverse school. Being in such an important city makes it filled with many different people from all over the world. This makes for an excellent learning enviroment both inside and outside the classroom. For me it was the source of most of my learning.

As a political science major, GWU's location in the heart of D.C., just blocks from the White House and National Mall, allows for unparelled opportunities to see the "real world" while learning about it in a school setting. It is not uncommon for various government officials to guest lecture - because of the proximity. The urban setting of the campus also gives the feeling of being a part of something bigger that I don't think an isolated campus can offer.

The best thing about my school is the diversity. I have met people from all over the world with different backgrounds and different cultures. The plethora of information available not only by the professors or the libraries but by the students at the university is what I think is the best thing about my school.

Tamara

The location. Living in the middle of Washington, DC provides unbelievable interactions, experiences and opportunities.

GW is very unique because we don't have an average everyday campus. Nope, we are situated about 3 blocks away from the White House smack dab in the middle of D.C. This is a true city school but at the same time maintains a sense of community as well. Although it may be annoying running from class on K Street to class on E Street....you learn the tricks of the trade and find out how to manage city time. This school will make you become an adult much much quicker since it forces you to get out, meet people, and explore the historic scenery surrounding you.

The best part about George Washington University is the professors. Every single one I've had will go above and beyond their call of duty. If you are unable to make their office hours, every single one is willing to meet you at another time. If you send them emails, for the most part, they respond right away. The classes also aren't that large, so you get to know the professor better. You aren't just a face to them but real person.

THE BEST THING ABOUT MY SCHOOL WAS THE FACT IT WAS IN DC (WHICH HAS SO MUCH HISTORY, POLITICS AND CULTURE TO OFFER).

GWU offers an array of unique opportunities not found at many other universities. Due to our outstanding location, it is commonplace for GWU students to obtain internships and jobs during the school year with many federal agencies, non-profit organizations, coroporations, and other international organizations. Furthermore, GWU benefits from attracting incredible speakers, scholars, and professors who conduct excellent lectures that pertain to our field of study. For example, while I was studying Iran's recent political upheaveal, I had a chance to attend a lecture conducted by Karim Sadjadpour, an expert on Middle Eastern Studies, discussing Iran's political situation.

The best thing about George Washington University is its location in the nation's capital. Not only is there a omnipresent sense of national pride, but being so close to all this political action provides a plethora of opportunites for interships and valuable jobs. The are is also just quite beautiful. On Saturdays, a group of my friends and I play football in front of the white house, which is three blocks form where I live. It is both an exciting and profound experience.
