What kind of person should attend George Washington University?

Someone that is very self-motivated and comfortable living on their own in a big-city. GW students work hard and play hard and most are very involved on campus. Also, GW students are very career focused, if you know what you want to do, GW is a good school for you. It has strong programs in International Relations, Politics, Communication and most social sciences and humanities. It is not the best school for science !!

You need to have an ambitious personality to attend The George Washington University. The university will provide a solid education and valuable experiences, but to truly succeed here students must take the initiative to seize the many outside opportunities GWU presents. One of the best things about this university is its activities outside the classroom, and students need to be proactive in finding extracurricular activites and jobs.

GW is a school full of diverse and driven individuals. As such, the atmosphere can be quite competitive. The students who come to GW often have defined career goals, and they actively pursue many of the best jobs and internships that Washington D.C. has to offer. So if you're more of a "wait and see" type of person, GW probably isn't right for you. Additionally, anyone who appreciates living in the heart of a city will love GW. The school is located in Foggy Bottom, four blocks from the White House and the National Mall.

It is a good place for International Affairs and Public Policy, and not as interesting for liberal arts. Mills College is perfect for a creative student who developing both the artistic and thechnical side to his/her music. The music department at Mills is wonderful.
