What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year at Furman University?

I wish I had some foreknowledge of the calendar change because it would have allowed me some extra time to think of the best way to plan out courses. Even if I would have known about this change before attending, I would still have come to this University.

That I needed to do homework every night and not just before a test. My first term in college I was cramming for everything and I ended up not doing nearly as well as I should have done. Two all nighters in a row will not earn you As in college.

The school is overly conservative. The students come from wealthy families and protected "bubbles," and lack a grasp of the real world. As a result, they tend to be arrogant, close-minded, and self-righteous.

I wish I could have prepared myself with the knowledge that it is so easy to say "yes" to everything because so many things look interesting. It's not hard to become busy here! I wish I had known what I wanted to major in. It would have made my class choosing much less stressful.

It is not as diverse a place as I had originally thought.
