The best thing about FSU is the atmosphere. People here are all one big family, no matter how big our school is. The spirit is inevitable to catch once you step foot on our campus. I think the size of our school is perfect. It is very large and there are over 40,000 students, but that is what makes us such a diverse community. Tallahassee is definitely a college town, especially surrounding the campus. Although it is also the capital, everything in Tallahassee seems to be centered around the Seminoles. The biggest controversy that has recently been an issue is the academic cheating scandals. There is TONS of school pride. Even though we haven't had a great football season in the past couple of years, we still bond together and stand behind our team. And this goes for all sports. Experiences I will always remember about FSU include sunbathing on Landis Green, playing football with friends on Landis Green, Market Wednesdays in the Union, annual ice cream socials with TK Wetherell, all of the Homecoming festivities, and attending all the sporting events. I think the biggest complaint from most of FSU students is about parking. There never seems to be enough parking throughout the day until the early afternoon, no matter where your classes are.

The best thing about Florida State University is the atmosphere. Because the campus is small and the buildings are close together, there is an unclassifiable emotion that comes from merely walking to class. At sporting events, fans come together to root on their team collectively. Though you probably won't end up being best friends with the people around you at the sporting events, everyone remembers the big plays and the sense of unity. I feel that the school is just right in regards to size and population of students. One thing I would change is people's impression of this university and the negative connotation people have associated with it. It is commonly assumed that because I am a Seminole, I spend all of my time out drinking, when in all reality, I'd rather spend time at the school events (i.e. Breakfast for a Buck, at the Student Life Cinema, etc.) than at a bar. Though our school may get caught up in some scandals (especially the football team), there is still a huge amount of pride in being a student here because of all the amazing things FSU has to offer. One unique thing that most people do not know is that FSU is one of the few universities with a circus. FSU Flying High Circus is world-renown and in the comfort of your own back yard once you become a student here. Most students tend to complain about class availability and the residence halls. Because of budget cuts, some classes are offered less often or taken away completely. Also, people have a hard time adjusting to residence halls. My advice as a Resident Assistant is to go in with an open mind. Every residence hall offers a completely different experience from any of the other buildings, so take advantage of the building you live in, whether it be community style or suite style, because some of your best memories can potentially come from where you live. One experience I will always remember is my first birthday here at FSU. Starting it with ice cream at the Diner at midnight, followed by a day of classes, dinner with friends, and ending it by being thrown in the Wescott Fountain was a day I'll never forget. For those that don't know, there is a tradition at FSU that you are not a TRUE Seminole until you have been thrown into the Wescott Fountain on your birthday. Small traditions like this one help make Florida State the university that it is.

The best thing about FSU is the campus, it's absolutely gorgeous. I'd change the price of things. Everything is really expensive. And I'd change stuff about the union, it isn't very pretty. The size is just right. Most of the time on the West side, but I love Landis Green.

The traditions are the best! The thing i'd change is parking because there is none. FSU is pretty big but I like it and i think it depends on personal choice. Most of my time on campus is spent in my dorm. College town for sure. I have no problem with our administration but then again I'm not very familiar with it. There was a big controversy over the abortion campaign in the middle of campus a couple weeks ago. There is TONS of school pride! I don't think anything is unusual here. One experience i'll always remember is getting thrown in the Westcot fountain for the first time on my birthday (campus tradition) . A lot of complaints come from the parking issue.

The best thing about FSU are the people that you can meet. I would change how much money goes to athletics. It's just right. Once you find your niche, you can get around really easily in the social circles. But it is big enough to lose yourself if you want to. Most people in Florida either grin and tell me that they are 'Noles fan, or grimace and admit they went to UF. Outside of Florida, no one really seems to care one way or another. They're just content that I graduated. Definitely, definitely a college town. Not the greatest college town, but seriously, Tallahassee is her universities. And maybe the occasional politician. I've never had a big problem with the administration at FSU, but I was in and out pretty quickly. When I graduated, the biggest controversy was Jeff Bowden and his career with the Seminoles. But I heard the story about the football players who cheated on some test and got banned from a game. There is a LOT of school pride at FSU. Almost too much. There's nothing too unusual about FSU. Except for the absolute LACK of parking spaces/dorm rooms. But that's sort of normal. I'll always remember RFOC (RIP).

There are too many great things about FSU to pick just one. I would change the amount of parking spaces, or alter the way they are used. FSU is just the right size. It's big enough to meet new people all the time, but I also see my friends on campus quite often. I've never had a bad reaction when I tell people I go to FSU. I don't spend a lot of time on campus. Tallahassee is absolutely a college town. There are 3 schools here. Most FSU teachers are amazing. The few that weren't as fantastic as the rest were still better than most high school teachers. This school has much pride, but not in a conceited way. People will do the chop out their car windows or yell out the war chant and others really respond positively. I'll always remember every birthday being thrown into the Wescott fountain. It's a tradition here and it's so much fun.

The amount of people that go here is huge, but I still manage to see familiar faces on campus every single day. It's a college town, as in the town's night life thrives on the few bars on the few strips that we have. The administration is great, they are just starting to cut back on budgets because of state budget cuts, not because of anything that the university did themselves.

the school is very traditional in style, with lots of renovations, but a beautiful campus nonetheless. i'd wish their bus system was a bit more prompt, but this has always been a problem and is just getting better, rather than worse. This school is basically tallahassee, and is very much a college town, despite being quite packed together (in contrast to UF's wide open campus). the school pride is ferocious, and rightly so. however, should the local paper bring up our recent losses, god forbid you be a 'true seminole.' it's a great school with plenty to offer. anyone in doubt should lay their worry to rest because there's just too much to enjoy for everyone.

The best thing about FSU is that it has a lot of programs and interactive activities for incoming students. I'd change the way some things are organized in my specific college (College of Textiles & Human Sciences). Campus is pretty big, but I think it's great. People will usually say something about the Seminoles when I tell them I go to FSU. I don't spend much time on campus, but when I do it's in my classes. College town, definitely. FSU's administration is great. The biggest controversy on campus was when football players were caught cheating on a test. There is a lot of school pride.

What's the best thing about FSU?: The environment. Everyone is polite and willing to help you out if you need something. Also, you can never be bored around here. I would change the fast food restaurants on campus. We really need some more variety. The school is just the right size. We don't have major roads running through the university which is really nice. You can also walk across campus in about 15 minutes. I spend most of my time on campus sitting around Williams building (english building) reading or doing homework. Tallahassee is definitely a college town. We have tons of school pride. Everyone comes out for our football games and celebrates afterwards when we win.
