Florida International University is a respected college, primarily due to its School of Business and it has expanded its resources to include a School of Law and a medical school. The college hosts approximately 40,000 students, with numerous locations throughout Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. The South Florida region is much less of a college town, as compared to Tallahassee and Gainesville upstate and Boston, Massachusetts. For those who enjoy a large college, FIU hosts 2 large campuses, the Modesto Maidique Campus and the Biscayne Bay Campus. People have a positive reaction when I say I attend FIU, but not nearly as positive as the one I've witnessed by others who have said that they attend University of Miami. The school has somewhat of a decent selection of degree programs. On the downside, the persons I often encounter when I have a scheduling conflict are highly unknowledgable about my concerns. I often have to navigate through several departments to receive a legitimate answer or payment correction. I have witnessed the level of pride of FIU, although it is not nearly as great as the pride of University of Miami.

The assistance when needed is always available. I have an excellent experience with my advisers. I do not have an issue with any part of FIU. It is just right in size, I consider it to be a large campus, yet not too big. People admire FIU, and do consider it to be a reputable facility. I spend most of the time on my campus in the library, and in the gym. It is a very peaceful environment. FIU is a college town. Very optimistic, endless activities going on at all times, driven by the students. The administration is excellent There is a lot of school pride. Being in FIU on the day of a game is very exciting

We are International for a reason. If you want to become a global citizen, incorporating the global learning and perspective FIU helps you build, then this university is the place for you. FIU is a big campus; I remember getting lost there during my first stay. It's the right size especially for freshmen, since their main buildings are bult closely. The residence halls aren't apart and are close to each other, so one doesn't have any difficulty in getting to other halls. In fact, we have PantherTrams or small vehicules that take students around campus. FIU is an enormous school in terms of population having more than 40,000 students. Because of that, the adminstration can get slow at times. But imagine the exposure one gains by being amongst a multitude of diversities. We don't have school pride. We have PantherPride! I remember my first orientation day. I had just come from a different country with three huge bags right into the university. Being early for dorm check-in, I had no place to keep my bags. The FIU Orientation Office kindly let me use their storage space till the time my check-in date came. I believe FIU's parking makes one more attentive and alert because there's a shortage of it.

Florida International University (F.I.U.) is a cultural diversified school that provides many opportunities to minorities, foreign students, and those alike with a bright and achievable future ahead of them. F.I.U. is like a very own civilization, a home to many that has an abundance of buildings, school and food related stores, and a beautiful scenery filled with abstract art. There are areas I enjoy adventuring to, such as the Green Library, when I need alone time to study or read, or the Graham Center, when I want to meet up with friends or when I want to make fun of the horrible and really loud music vibrating against every wall; it's inescapable. F.I.U. has a diversity of places to attend to to fit your mood.

FIU is a unique institution, a family oriented one. Because we have a few campuses, the student population is not too large. In one phrase, "FIU is AWESOME!!!"

FIU is not too big and i think it is a great school. I spend most of my time either in the cafeteria with a friend or studying in the library. The resources on campus are great. There are many events going on at both campuses. It is easy to get involved, and there is never a boring week at school! I love that there is always an event with free food or music or FIU stuff! Both campuses are good for different reasons but overall a great university.

The campus is big, you have to walk a lot if you are taking classes from different college. FIU is known as international school that is located near south beach, so a lot of people go out there and party. IT is near a good location, where they're lots of plazas, restaurants and convenient stores. GC building the place where most people spend as it is where the cafeteria is and the lounge area is and the bookstore is there and so is a starbucks, which is upstairs. Across from it is the library. There really isn't much school pride. One complaint i hear constantly is about the business advisors, that it is hard to get an appointment with them and when you do, it is for 5 minutes. It is a great campus, where you can lay on grass and study with the beautiful weather.

It's terribly overcrowded, and the people who work there generally are selfish; that's why I rephrase FIU as the university that is good at F****** It Up. There's a lot of things done under the table that students should realize; I'm transferring ASAP.

FIU began as a commuter school. The main campus is in the heart of Miami, 30 minutes from the beach and 20 minutes from downtown. In the last 10 years they have grown immensely and now offer more options for living on campus. There Biscayne Bay Campus is a smaller quite, natural setting by the ocean while the Modesto Maidique Campus is a large urban campus that includes a football stadium and many other typical college life amenities.
