You need three things to succeed in school: a healthy attitude, a willing to work and learn, and a scientific graphing calculator. I got a calculator in high school and even though I am no math major, the graphing calculator is the only one that would have worked for me. As for having a healthy attitude, you need to choose the school that most fits your personality. If you are laid back, choose a fairly laid back school. If you're active, you need to go to an active school. If you choose a school with everything you think you want, you may be more inclined to want to stay. And when you have like five tests in one week, just breathe, and budget your time. Remember that in four years you'll be done and be moving on even further toward what you want from life. this is why you need that willingness to learn, too. You need to want to learn, and to work. When you actually have work to do, your grades will truly reflect what you do. And if you find yourself struggling for cash, don't worry. We all do it. We're college kids.

Be realistic. This is most important when picking a major. I have seen alot of aerospace engineering and astrophysics majors end up with a degree in interdisciplinary science (which is one step away from worthless) because they didn't realize they couldn't hang with the classes until it was too late.

I would say that the biggest or most important accet about choosing your future school for me is the size of the school, the location, the type of school, the amount of money you get offered to attend the school. Now I also think that having a general knowledge of the activities on campus is also very important. Some other factors that would make me consider a school over other schools is the ratio of males to females, the teams that compete for the school, the amount of activtiy that occurs over the weekends.

In order to find the right college, firstly one must have an idea of where their talents lie, and how they can be linked to the career path he/she would like to follow. The student must have the determination to pursue what they like and enjoy. The CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs, always had a great interest in technology. Even though he dropped out of college at the end of his first semester, he still hung around the college to pursue his dream. His perseverence made him into what he is today. The parents role in this is to support the student in everything he does at college. They must not dishearten the student from following his or her dreams. Of course, both parents and student must find a college in a likeable environment. Location is a major aspect in the college-finding process. Also, the college must be affordable. All of this boils down to preference for the student. What the student wants is what the student should pursue. No one should be able to sway the mind of the student. The parents should encourage the student for him to excel at college.
