Flathead Valley Community College is a great school! The professors are knowledgeable, supportive, and caring. They challenge you to do your best work. The entire faculty is encouraging, available, and easy to talk to. One can learn a lot at this school. There is an array of programs to choose from ranging from transfer degrees, AAS’s, certificates, and licensure for subjects from engineering and computer science to graphic design and fine arts. One can find many occupational trades to study as well. The campus is alcohol and drug free. The campus housing is incredible! With two separate buildings, each that can only be unlocked with your keycard. There are single and double dorm rooms available, each with a kitchen and bathroom in the room. There is a campus cafeteria where students can catch a quick bite and mingle before class and a small café in the library/learning commons where one can catch a prepared snack and a specialty coffee. The library has so many resources, it’s hard not to skip class to hang around. There are shelves and shelves of books and many computer stations available. There are copiers, drinking fountains, and restrooms stationed throughout the campus for easy access too. The facility is always clean and there are plenty of opportunities to catch a student engagement event. There are several sports events held every week, including basketball, volleyball, ice skating, floor hockey, and ultimate frisbee. And there are even more student organizations to choose from such as: phi theta kappa, student government, computer programming, theater, music, art, LGBTQ+, and intramurals. At FVCC, there are supportive professors and faculty available who skillfully teach an array of subjects in a facility that is always clean, safe, and offers many extracurricular events.

This is a great place to learn. The campus is very well kept. The faculty is amazing. Its located in the last best place on earth. Just south of heaven. The Flathead valley is very peaceful. And the community is really nice. And Glacier National Park is just a half hour away. For the outdoor type this is the place to be. I'm an amateur photoagrapher so I really love this valley. With this scholarship i could improve my writing skills.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would tell myself that I should go to New York for college. The first college I went to wasn't for me, and it may have been tough, but it would have been great to start out in New York. I was afraid since I hadn't lived anywhere but Kalispell, but it really would have been a great experience. I'm going there next year, however, it would have been nice to have been there all for years. I would tell myself not to be afraid and that I could do well whether I was at home or across the country.
