It helps to have friends outside of Emerson. Move off campus at some point. it' a great experience the dining hall food is good. for a year. then, not so much, no.NONO. Library hours absolutely suck the school closes down at 6pm on weekends - WHAT YOU DON'T WANT US TO WORK!? no one cares about SGA TALK TO PEOPLE. EXPLORE THE SCHOOL. THERE'S SOOOOO MANY HIDDEN GEMS!!! SO MANY! So many great oppurtunities! And they're not that hard to find!

College is what you make of it - you can be happy or unhappy anywhere. Just look at major things like location, academics, and extracurriculars, and if those are a good fit then you can usually forge a good experience.

Most people are begging for attention at Emerson. Sometimes going there made me feel like a real asshole.

I was very miserable at Emerson until my senior year I travelled abroad. That changed everything. Students at Emerson seem to be a lot happier if they begin there and end there. If you join in the middle like I did, it is a lot harder to adjust because the school doesn't emphasize the importance of transfer students being happily involved. If you do go to Emerson, do not spend every semester in Boston. Please go to the Kasteel, LA or Prague. The world is too big and exciting to stay in one place the entire time. If you can, go to two of them. They are all amazing programs. After graduating, I have gone against liberalism because of how strong it is at Emerson. If you do not have strong political beliefs before Emerson, you will leave with some. You will get obsessed with causes to the point of it taking of your life...or you will be one of the few, like me, who went to the completely opposite side. Emerson is VERY pretentious, yes, but not everyone is as bad as that 25{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c}. There are some awesome, normal, intelligent people who go to our school. Not everyone is an artsy dodge ball target, I swear! And yes, it is true that musical theatre majors sing in the elevators, in the hallways alllllll the time! Again, I am one person and not everyone at Emerson feels the way I do, so I apologize if what I say is offensive or not helpful.

perhaps if Emerson was more commuter-friendly or more affordable, I'd be having a better experience.

THIS SURVEY IS WAY TOO LONG.

I know this is a small thing but my biggest negative comment about Emerson is that their mail system is TERRIBLE, especially concerning packages. In the beginning of the year I had my new laptop shipped directly to the school, but it was lost (or stolen)somewhere between being carried off the delivery truck and entered into the system to be delivered to me. After attempting to claim that this wasn't their fault for a few weeks they finally broke down and ended up buying me a new computer. I have also gotten packages days, weeks, months late and they are often beaten up (or even opened) as if they've been kicked around the mail room for awhile. It is an endless source of frustration and even though it's not the biggest factor in receiving a worthy education or having a memorable college experience it is still something that drives me crazy! Also, it is extremely easy to test out of requirements. There are only two gen eds that you can not test out of: a speech class and research writing. I took seven AP courses and a University in High School for French course in high school and they took all of the credits (even those with a score of 3, but this depends on the subject). Also if you get higher then, I think, 500-something on the math SATs that gets you out of the math requirement too. I entered Emerson with 34 credits and therefore will be graduating a year early!

Whether or not I "like" Emerson varies on which day you ask me. For the most part, I've been here for 3 years because of the activities that I participate in and the friends that I have made.

Emerson is fantabulous.

Emerson is my dream school, and I'm lucky enough to be attending it. But I know that it's not for everyone, and only certain types of people will be happy here.
