What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

That you can get credit for prior learning at half the cost of traditional classes.

La Grande is a rural, agricultural community with a decidedly conservative worldview. There were a lot of rednecks in the bars on the weekends and it could get pretty sketchy sometimes. Winters were cold and long, but decent skiing is close by.

To apply for scholarships and not to give up when things get tough. There is nothing like a college education to further yourself in your career goals no matter how high you wish to shoot for. Even if you aspire for an Associates Degree this will help leap frog you in front of other career candidates who chose not to attend any college at all.

I wish i would have known how small and judgemental the community that surrounds the college was. Its not the college it is the people who are locals here. Evarybody knows everyone and gossips about them.

Before coming to this school I had researched almost everything beforehand. But there were a few things I didn't know, like some of the curriculum changes on the business program degree requirements, there's no out-of-state tuition at this school, and knowing the scholarships available at this school only. These were hard to find on the website for the school.

I wish I would have known how to use my time studying. I never really had to study very much in high school. It took me a while to learn how to study more in college.
