I did not have to consider other schools because Earlham's small liberal arts community is the perfect fit for me. Other schools that came to talk to my high school did not seem to encourage the type of learning environment I needed. Earlham provides a wonderful environment in which one can contact their professor any time they need, can choose to be any where on campus but still be with others if wanted, and even find tranquility by walking behind campus a few yards.

The school has one of the largest international student population, 20{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of my graduating class. This in combination with large Jewish, African American, and Quaker populations, due to its historic connection with the black civil rights movement and being a Quaker school. The high diversity allows for greater discussions in class and broad opinions.

Laura

First, it is a quaker college andsupports quaker philosophies. It also has a wide range of students on campus, including a comparatively high percent of international students. It was also in a different region than where I grew up, and it has a high percentage of students studying abroad (I just completed an abroad program).

It was about 1/15 of the size of the others schools I considered. It cost about 4 times more than the other schools I considered, and also was looking for a more well-rounded applicant when I was applying. Financial aid was also available FROM the school where as other schools didn't grant me any.
