People study a lot on weekdays (and sometimes weekends) so the social life isn't crazy. The fraternities and eating houses contribute a lot to keeping things going. I really only ever stay on campus for parties/activities on the weekends though... not sure if thats good or bad

If I am awake at 2am on a Tuesday I am in the Library, if it was a Weds. i would be out at the court or senior apartments. My closest friends i have are from my hall and classes. The dating scene is either hookup buddies or a serious relationship. It sucks. It is scary how many alumni marry another alumni. Last weekend i went to a court party that was thrown by my eating house, Warner Hall. Court parties are typically dancing and drinking.

There's plenty to do on campus--concerts, sproting events, Union board activities, the lake campus, parties held on patterson court. The social scene at patterson court is extremely open and parties are open to all students regardless of your social affiliation. That keeps people in-touch so when you go out you're not just surrounded by people in your eating house/fraternity.

There are SO many activities and groups to be a part of at Davidson. And there are a TON of speakers and performances. My work study is in the ticket office and I love it because I always know what's going on. Our theater department rocks and some really cool artists/performers/groups have come to Davidson this year. There's always so much going on here that it's hard to get off campus.
The party scene here is definitely active. Most parties happen "down the hill," on Patterson Court, where all the fraternities and eating houses (pseudo-sororities, minus rushing) are or in the senior apartments. Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday are the party nights. Drinking and dancing are common weekend activities and the campus police are pretty relaxed. At Davidson the party and drinking scene is strictly optional, though. If it's not your thing, no pressure. You'll still have plenty of friends and plenty of fun. The Union Board (student activities) puts on plenty of sober, often themed events and it's all free. Well, kind of. We do pay an arm and a leg to go here.
The dating scene is practically nonexistent. There's not much casual dating; either your randomly hooking up on the weekends or your practically married. Davidson students are often too busy to date, as sad as that sounds.

The most prevalent groups are frats and eating houses, I am in Connor House. I also am in a club that is raising money to build a school in Uganda and an eating disorder awarness group. people are extremely trusting, people never lock their doors. Most of my closest friends are on my hall, Davidson does a great job of matching people up so that similar people all live together on the same hall.

Campus is full of activities. There are the D-1 athletics to participate in or just be a huge fan and supporter of . Also there are organizations specifically for minorities. The fraternities and eating houses offer wonderful opportunities to interact and socialize. There are a variety of clubs based around so many different issues; there is definitely something for everyone on campus to become passionate about.

A lot of opportunities exist at Davidson, and they are very well advertised so you won't miss out like you might at other colleges. Fraternities are not that huge here at Davidson, but that's who I like to hang out with and there is a good social life (although not everyone here is into partying, but you get to know and hang out with a cool group of people who do.) Wednesdays, Fridays, adn Saturdays are big nights for going out here. Most of the parties are on campus, and you rarely have to worry about stuff getting broken up by police.

Our court parties are fun themed dance parties. They get a little repetitive but its always a good time. Not many people go off campus but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

There's a very safe environment at Davidson. People leave their doors unlocked, their computers at desks in the library, and their book bags in the halls without fear of anyone stealing from them. The only athletic event that is universally popular at Davidson is men's basketball. There aren't a lot of options for fraternities on campus, but they're definitely a visisble institution in terms of defining groups of boys and organizing parties.

students don't even lock doors, and they are usually open if they are in their room. eating houses and fraternities are a big part of the social scene here, but you can definitely have a life outside of it. people usually party 1 night a weekend, and pick one night to stay in and relax and rest up for the week ahead or to catch up on homework. people also sometimes go out on wednesdays. alcohol is readily available on any given going out night.
