What should every freshman at Danville Area Community College know before they start?

Joshua

The first thing I would say is that I need to focus more on my studies than on girls. Next I would tell myself to read the Bible more so I can grow in my faith. I would also tell myself that Mechanical Engineering is not the right choice for me. Another thing is that I shouldn't worry about what other people think but just do what I believe is right, acording to my faith.

If i could go back in time I would tell my self to prepare yourself. Every student wants a laid back Senior year. You take easy classes like all your friends. But listen. When you get to college weither you choose the community college route or the big school university, your friends are for the most part, not going to be there with you. Once you get to college, its the real deal. No more counselors baby-ing you or teachers letting you slid because of the big game on Friday. It is real life and its here now! So i would tell myself, "push yourself!" Push yourself to the limit. Take those classes online, those late night AP classes, that extra SAT or ACT for more practice. "Life after High School sucks." is not true. Life after high school is just real life. You are the one that needs to be pushing you and you are the one that is in charge. So after i tell myself this, I expect myself to look at the future in a different way. A Better way, for tomorrow.

I would tell myself to study harder, and to think seriously about my future. Most high school students, myself included do not realize the impact that their education and daily choices has on the rest of their lives. If I had known them what I know now, I would have went to college when I was young and single, instead of doing when I am 28, divorsed, and have 2 children. It is hard at such a young age to think of your life in 10 or 20 years. I would tell myself that to get anywhere in life you have to have an education, and that by not going to college, and taking my education more seriously when I was younger, I was hurting my future children. I would tell myself that if you want your children to realize that hard work is the only way to make it in this world, then you have to work hard yourself. If you want your children to know that women can support themselves, then you have to show them by example. If I could go back in time I would make different, better choices.
