Covenant College Top Questions

What kind of person should not attend Covenant College?

Susanna

The student who desires an easy, carefree, or wildly independent experience free from obligations, responsibility, or accountability should avoid Covenant College. Additionally, the student who simply desires to earn academic credits, receive a diploma, and build a resume that will impress employers ought to consider other academic institutions. Anyone who is not willing to be accountable to peers and professors in residence halls and in classrooms, to be challenged in their spiritual walk, and to maintain and cherish the established traditions of a reformed school should carefully evaluate the situation before choosing to come to Covenant College.

Some one who is a non-Christian would be highly discouraged from attending Covenant. Other than that everyone is welcome here. Academics are important to the faculty and staff, so individuals need to be sure that they are serious about pursuing their college education.

Anyone who expects to come to Covenant and slack off in school and party on the weekends will realize quickly that that's just not the kind of school that Covenant is. Covenant will not help a student zone out through school, but will challenge him/her to do the best he/she can while he/she is here. I would not recommend this college to anyone who is just looking for a good time: we have a great time here and an amazing community, but a student should not come simply to boost his/her social life.

A person shouldn't attend this school if they like drinking and doing drugs. Covenant is a very artistic school, and very driven toward excellence, and the students have a high understanding of why they are there. People who desire to waste away their college experience in alcohol do not belong at Covenant.
