There are some stereotypes that the students here are very generic and preppy, all coming from the same backgrounds.

We drink a lot. All of the kids are preppy.

I think that there's definitely an assumption about Conn that everyone here is rich, white, and from outside of Boston. And while this may be true for a number of people, not everyone here fits that category. I know I'm certainly not driving my Land Rover around campus and wearing expensive designer clothes everyday! As a matter of fact, none of my friends are either. I think that this stereotype is similar for a lot of the NESCAC schools, but when you really start to talk to people, you realize that people at Conn come from all kinds of backgrounds.

Everyone is from "just outside of Boston".

I have often heard Conn referred to as a country club, or a yacht club, insinuating that it is filled with preppy, upper-class people.

rich, snotty upper middle class white kids who are out of touch with reality also, there is the stereotype that our school is the safety school for those who want to go to Ivy League schools
