Pay close attention to your studies, don't worry about a social life, don't worry about making friends, focus solely on your goal for a career. Don't worry about anything else. Friends and a life are important but the economy being what it is and so unstable, the reality is that it's more important to make sure you have the proper training in order to support yourself in the future. At the same time, make sure that you participate in extracurricular activities that apply to your major because they can be helpful in the long run. Meet with your advisor at least twice a month if possible to make sure you're following the appropriate path for your career choice. Also apply for as many scholarships as possible - the less school loans you have, the better your credit will be in the long run.

You sit here scared to leave your friends and hesitant of what the future holds. Remember you are a unique person and you made mistakes while growing to this point in life, but college is a fresh start. Never doubt yourself for in the end yourself is all you have. You need to know that it's ok to not always know the answers, that it's ok to be afraid, that sometimes you will mess up and fail in a class. The grades are not the most important thing for you to focus on though they are neccessary to get into a league college. More importantly you need to know that you learn by mistakes more than you learn from getting things right the first time. No one is perfect but everyone tries to do their best and in the end as long as you do your best, thats all anyone can ask of you. Life in college is not much different your classwork will be more time consuming and learning will be more educational. You may find that teachers are not out to hurt you but rather there to guide you. Live life and learn.
