The Off-Campus Meal Plan is definitely worth trying out. I've had mine for over a year now. There's over 30 different restaurants on the plan, which makes it easier to budget out your money and a variety of choices when you want to go out with your friends. Some of the most popular restaurants for students are La Hacienda, Moe's (especially because you can get a burrito, chips, and drink for $6 on Mondays), Five Loaves Cafe, and Andolini's Pizza.

The cafeteria is awesome! There is a desert, homestyle meals, grill, fruit bar, sandwich bar, salad bar, foreign meal, pasta, and a pizza section. Pretty much, no matter how picky of an eater you are, you can find something. And the cafeteria is especially awesome around exam times. Everybody goes to the library to study, and with all those people it starts to get loud; this allows for the cafeteria, the normally loud place, to fall silent. So I take my books to Liberty cafeteria and munch on snacks while I study. Take advantage of the events CAB and other camus organizations host. Last year they had free smoothie night, game night, and a bunch of free movie nights along with tons of other stuff. The indie dance parties over the music farm are to die for they are so much fun. I also recommend getting a taste of the arts while at the college. The plays are always good, but what I found to be even better are the not so well publicized productions, such as the free ones in room 220 (i believe), and the directors showcase which is a complile of plays directed by students. Also, concerts put on by the college, like the belly dancing club, are a great source of free entertainment. Last but not least, if you're living in the dorms, get to know the people who live around you. In College Lodge (often referred to as the party dorm, but that's just because we have the most fun, and everyone else is jelous) we leave our doors open so people can come in whenever and chat or else hang out on the balconies playing guitar or just talking about life. It's a great stress relief to know that you can just go over and play guitar hero or watch a movie with your neighbor (or anyone on your floor for that matter) when you need a break from studying. It's a good idea to remember that college isn't all about school, you need to kick back and relax every once and a while (just not too much) :)

The surronding vacinities of the campus are great for College Students. The area has its pricy places, but then there are cheap things that will never make you bored. In the downtown area there is the market where you can buy almost anything. On saturdays Marion Square turns into a famers market, where you can buy cheap great food all day long. There are also festivals and events that take place all year long.

I really HATE the parking situation at the college. I also hate the infrastructure deterioration that is happening. Of course, that problem is all over the country and especially all over the state. But, King Street looks good since they worked on it. The classrooms in Maybank can be too small for the amount of people they sometimes stuff in there. 4 semesters of foreign language for a Computer Science major is a little ludicrous. I've had 3 thus far of Spanish and can't even say a sentence. I've heard this complaint from a lot of students.

Frats and sororities suck. They totally stick to themselves (which is fine) and they are all rich, preppy, stuck up dousche bags. The girls are arrogant skanks, and the guys are assholes. Norms pizza will change your life. The weight room is grungy, but does the job as long as it stays open next year. The Citadel guys are total queers too, they only want to talk about school and the Citadel, when they should be trying to talk to girls at a party. Late night adventures down to the battery and the haunted prison are sweet. Go on a ghost tour. Charleston is so tight.

Ben

Nah, I pretty much summed it up.

College of Charleston is a place full of girls, beer and beaches. It is seen as a guys dream, where most of the girls are in skirts & showing skin most of the year on the beach. A girls dream, with beaches, shopping and "gentlemen". CofC students manage to have the best of both worlds, they work hard in classes and have fun the rest of the time. CofC is a unique college experience, second to none.

I came down from Boston and its now summer after my freshman year and I stayed down here. It's a really cool place.

I mean were going to drink any way so I think the school should do more about the hobos on King Street because some drunk idiot will probably get raped or stabbed.

I'm not sure what else to say, but... I cannot imagine going to college anywhere else and being as happy as I am here. This place has given me something more than any text book or lecture can teach. The College of Charleston was the place where I found who I want to be and it gave me a space to define myself.
