What's the most frustrating thing about Carthage College?

Josh

The most frustrating thing about my school is again the cost. It is very expensive and hard to afford. I love the learning environment and the size of the school and I would never want to go to a different school, however, the cost is making me think I might have to leave Carthage College.

Kathleen

The rules as far as alcohol and noise get very annoying.

Chris

Winters right next to lake michigan.

Joelle

The person who took us on a tour told us there was tons of stuff to do on the weekends but in reality it is a ghost town most weekends.

Reistering for classes, you can see as the classes fill up, but you are not able to register until your appointed date or time. Planning each semester of coursework has involved having to change my plans, even after I have put in careful consideration of options to have the best possible schedule, it just doesn't work out has planned, so don't get too attached to any class plan for a semester, because it will probably change by the time registration is over.

It's hard to be able to move off campus before your senior year. The dorms are fine, but when you are ready to move off you have to be approved before you're allowed to find your own house. Depending on the number of incoming freshman, it can be difficult to get approval.

Kirsten

The most frustrating thing about the school is finding the money to pay for it, and the ways administration does not take what students say seriously and do not listen. It seems like sometimes problems with the school never get fixed.

Brittany

Right now being a commuter is frustrating. They're doing rennovations on our gym/arena so the construction crews have taken away a lot of the commuter parking and we have to park farther away from our classes and possibly in an area where we aren't supposed to park which sets security on us. We've been harrassed by security for not parking in our commuter spots but that's becuase we don't have enough spots to park in. So I think we need more parking for commuters and everyone on campus.

The selection of food can get old fast, and the meal plan is not substantial. A car is a must for any fun at this school, and usually the weekends are dead because everyone has gone home. Most people are local (within a few hours). The dorms are ok, but in need of renevation.

Timothy

The conservative, binge-drinking mentality of all these partying students around me. Most of the campus is heterosexual, white, Republican, and interested only in partying at this school. Most seniors say, "I don't know what I want to do with my life after I graduate." Also, I never feel as though the faculty, administration, or the school's *one* counselor actually care about me as a person.
