A person who is not serious about his college education should not attend Calvin College. Everyone I have met at Calvin wants to be here and takes his studies very seriously.
Lauren
The kind of person who shouldn't attend Calvin College would be someone who is interested in an extremely small community. Calvin has a good sense of community, but as a small-town girl myself, I know that it feels a lot bigger than I expected. Similarly, someone who is looking for a huge campus where they will have almost complete anonomity should not attend Calvin College. Calvin is a good balance between these two extremes. Finally, anyone who comes to Calvin should be willing to work hard.
Katie
Someone who should not attend this school would be someone who is not focused on academics or ready to invest themselves in their education. Someone who plans to party all the time or always hang out avoiding homework would quickly fall behind at this intentional school. Someone who is looking for a place to do as little work as possible while still getting by should bypass this school, which expects its students to give their all. An individual with no religious convictions would be welcome here, but might feel a little out of place with the stron focus on Christianity.

Someone who is not willing to work hard at school should not attend Calvin College. It's a difficult school and academics are taken seriously.

If you're just looking to party in college, go somewhere else. Yes, OU is a huge party school and yes, we're rather infamous for it, but it's a serious college that requires time and commitment to your studies, and it does cost a decent amount. If you just want a cheap college experience, find it somewhere else. You'll just flunk out if you only party.

if you're not blonde , blue eyes, and skinny, you'll stick out like a sore thumb.

People who don't take school seriously. Calvin College is tough, and people who don't work hard won't do well. It can be really rewarding if you work, and expensive if you don't.
Kathryn
I think Calvin is a good place for anyone. Those who aren't Christians are welcome here, but I'm not sure they would feel comfortable because the Christian faith influences everything here.
Rebecca
The person who just wants an easy degree is not cut out for Calvin College. A prospective science major not interested in also engaging the realms of the liberal arts will find themselves forced out of their comfort zone. On the other hand, students persuing a well-rounded education and willing to work for it will thrive here.
Tom
Those who only want to reinforce what they've been taught all their life.
