Commuting was the first reason, but later I learned it was strong in my major (Accounting) as well, making me happy about my choice,

I decided to go to CSUN for two main reasons:the overall cost and location. At the time, and even now, CSUN was relatively one of the cheapest universities. It allowed me financial leeway and guaranteed me an education. Other than the cost, CSUN was also relatively close to house. Because it is only a 30 minute drive from my house, I am able to commute every day. Because of these main reasons, I finalized my decision to go to CSUN.

I knew that CSUN had an excellent English faculty, and I was not disappointed. There's also a lot of speakers who come to the school from a variety of backgrounds that are extremely insightful. CSUN wasn't the "best" school I got accepted to though, I also got into some excellent private schools, but after talking with some of my favorite teachers and family members that are professors, I found out a number of things about college. First of all, if you're planning on getting a graduate degree, it really doesn't matter where you get your undergrad, and if you go to some really expensive private school or even a UC, you're honestly wasting money you should be using toward your graduate degree, and probably placing yourself in huge debt. What you're really paying for at those really expense schools is 1. the "experience" and 2. potential connetions that will help you out later in life. Most of those expensive schools have HUGE classes where the teachers focus on their graduate students - as an undergrad, you'll just be a number on their roster of 100-200. It might seem like it's worth it, and for you it might be, but for me it was just a waste. I started up as a Freelance Writer straight out of high school, have gained a lot of experience and connections over the years, and have learned more from that then any college education could ever have given me. I'm more prepared for the reality of being a Writer and Marketing professional then anyone I know who already has a degree - not because I went to a "better" more expensive college, but because of the decisions I've made and because I've pushed myself hard to meet my own expectations.
That's what really determines whether or not someone is successful. No matter what college you go to, there'll always be people who slack off and still get a degree, but real success comes from hard work and keeping your eye on the ball. Sure, partying it up is awesome, as long as at the end of the day you've still got your career as your first priority.

The main reason I decided to attend this school was because it was one of the best in providing Psychology coursework. The psychology faculty is very respectable, especially since many are also involved in research and other hands-on work.
