Butler is full of all different kinds of people. You are able to meet students in other majors and with other interest because of the core classes. People wear everything from sweatpants, to business casual to class; it really depends on how you're feeling that day. A good majority of students are from the Chicagoland Area, with the next biggest group being from Indiana.

Butler is very diverse. We have students from all around the world and majors which draw in all sorts of people. The music, dancing, and vocal performance majors feel just at home here as the football players and those who are here to become doctors. I have friends ranging from education to vocal performance to dance and myself being pre-med rounds out a very diverse group of people.

The majority of Butler students are Caucasian, however there are also a wide variety of other races as well. Females outnumber males as well. I do not feel like anyone should feel out of place at Butler, but I am not a minority, so it is hard for me to say how others may feel. I believe that everyone seems to be welcome here and that there aren't any groups that are looked down upon.
It is really hard to explain the students at Butler, because I see a wide variety of students, from Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Republican, Democratic, Lesbian, Gay, Asian, African American, from high socio-economic background to lesser socio-economica backgrounds, and on and on....
The good thing about this, is that all students interact, no matter what their backgrounds are, what race they are, or what groups they associate with.

I feel we have a pretty diverse school: racially, backgrounds, interests, etc. Students here are intelligent. They apply what they learn in the classroom outside of the classroom. Students are willing to help each other out!

My classmates are all over-achievers. They are all the type of people that don't give up and strive to do well in their major. Mostly they're all genuinely nice people that strive for the same type of education I am. A solid education from a private school that can give them one-on-one attention.

There is such a diversity at this school it is impossible to describe the student here. Any person coming to Butler would be able to find their niche.
