Brigham Young University-Provo Top Questions

What kind of person should attend Brigham Young University-Provo?

Ken

Because it is a church-sponsored school, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints feel at home here. However, people who are interested in learning in an environment where the existance of God is accepted, should attend this school. There are many opportunities for students to participate in research, service, activism, and other activities, so this school is perfect for people who like to have a busy and diverse schedule.

Although the school is open to whoever would like to attend, there is an honor code that can be a little uncomfortable for someone who may not be living with similar standards to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is not a party school but provides a great learning environment for someone dedicated to their studies. While the university is tolerant of different ideas and values, it should not be expected to embrace most liberal ideas i.e. homosexuality, cohabitation, abortion, etc. The campus is clean, safe, and welcoming.

Well it's a religious school, so the majority of the students are of that particular religion. There is a strict honor code, so people who would want to attend this school should either be of that religion or able to put up with it, and also should be willing to obey the honor code as best they can. It is an academically challenging school, and a student there should be able to work hard to learn and do well in classes.
