Bellevue University Top Questions

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Allison

I wish I knew that my financial aid funds were almost depleted. However, my financial advisor and student advisor helped me every step of the way and made sure that I had the resources available for scholarships, grants, and loans.

Breezn

The financial aid process was very long initially and it is always better to have your academic advisor register you for classes.

Actually, there have been no surprises for me. After my husband passed away and I decided to get a degree, I spent several months researching colleges. Once I realized that Bellevue University had the program I was interested in, I focused my research on that university. I made a lot of phone calls and asked a lot of questions. By the time I started classes, I knew what I was getting in to.

I recently went back to school in January 2011 to Gwinnett Technical College. In May 2012, I graduated with an Associate's Degree in Accounting. I am now planning on attending Bellevue University. I suppose this question really applies to Gwinnett Tech, as I have not started studies at Bellevue. I wish I would have known how time consuming school is when you want to do more than just get by. My studies took away most of my social life. In the end, I finished with a 4.0 GPA. It was worth not having a life for a while!

Additional scholarships to apply for.

Bellevue University did an excellent job of warning potential students of the accelerated program the amount of work involved. I wish that I would have listened to the enrollment advisers a little more closely so I was better prepared for the amount of effort involved in the accelerated program. It's an excellent program however it does take a lot of work to get through it. You are truly covering a 12 week course in 4 weeks. It is a lot of reading on top of homework assignments but it's worth it in the end!

Erin

I wish I had realized how much discipline it would take to do an online accelerated degree program. This has tested my resolve to finish my degree and has also shown me how much drive I actually have.

Heather

That the financial aid department and the student advisors could be more helpful! At times I feel both of these departments could do a better job!

Jay

I wish I would have known how helpful the Proffesors are before I came to this school. I have been to other colleges where the Proffesor's do not want to do much beyond the classroom.

Matthew

I wish I had the registrar complete the my audit first; I may have been more inclined to contest how much credit was given for previous schooling and courses.
