I would say to be sure that you don't get distracted. It's pretty easy to not be focused, especially when the classes are free-- either because a parent is paying or the government is taking care of the bill via fianancial aid. Once you get off course, going back is pretty hard to do.

If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would make sure that my college selection and residential work was done by March of that year. I would tell myself that it is important to do well on placement tests, so that you are not placed in remedial courses, when I know I'm smarter than that. I would tell myself not to overwhelm myself with the hype of going to college. It is a great experience, but we must remember that there is work to be done, before all the playing and partying. When taking college courses, stand up for yourself, becaus an advisor might think that something is good for you, when you are the only one who knows what you can handle. Choose the college that you desire and keep in mind, where you are going to sleep every night, where you are going to eat, and how is the campus, and how are the professors.

If I could go back in time, I would tell myself to relax. I would say just enjoy the time that you have left of being in highschool with your friends and being a kid. Life is too short to worry about the little things. Basically I would reassure myself that everything will be okay and life after highschool isn't as scary as it seems.

If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would have gained all information possible about starting college. I would have given myself the opportunity to learn about scholarships for honor students. I would make sure that I know the importance of having a college degree in this current day and time. I would have also, been sure to schedule my classes appropriately and use effective planning techniques. A major technique of planning is utilizing proper time management skills. Therefore, I would have made sure that I had a personal organizer, that I planned my day effectively and that I managed my phone calls and emails efficiently. I would also have stress management as an important goal because a major reason that creates stress is having feelings of a lack of time or control. Due to this information, this makes stress management an important goal because stress relief can be the difference between good and bad health, for your life overall.

When i first started my senior year, I didn't even know if I was going to attend college. My parents could not afford it, so they weren't pushing the subject. I had no idea of the impact that college actually would have on my life. I started community college in the winter of 2007. I spent some time taking my general education courses without much of a goal of where I wanted to go. Until one day, I had an epiphany. I didn't want to be "average" I wanted to feel the best and have things to show for it. That's when I chose the Pharmacy field. In the pharmacy field, I am able to counsil patients, without being directly responsible for their health. The way drugs interact with the human body fascinates me, and I wish I had realized this while still in highschool. So the bottom line is, I should have taken chemistry, calculus, and physics in highschool, so i wouldnt be struggling now in college, because I really, really want to make a difference in this world!

I would tell myself to try and study more and be better rounded with knowledge of what is happening in the world today. The first semester of college was not bad because the work was very similar to what I learned in high school. However, it has gotten much harder. Keeping up with current affairs is a must, not only to pass classes but simply for your sake. I would tell myself not to only read the text books but make an honest effort to read other supplementary materials. This make life much easier and you don't wear yourself out trying to fight to keep up because you have a head start in front of everyone including the teacher. There is so much I would tell myself to do.
