Aurora University Top Questions

I have had a learning disability since age three, and so I need help and clarification from teachers in order to understand concepts and lessons taught in class. I am able to email teachers at Aurora University or make appointments to meet with them out of class and that helps with reassurance. Some teachers at the University are willing to help if asked and I like that they take the time to walk lessons through with me.

Well compared to my other choices Aurora University has really small class sizes. For example, last semester in my Biology class there was only 10 students total in the class, it was nice because then we had the chance to become more familiar with each other and it felt like we had a clser relationship with the teacher.

There are two factors that stand out to me as an undergrad student at Aurora University. The first is the oppurtunities that arise from our Criminal Justice program. The program offers guest speakers, tours of facilities, ride-alons, and internships. By participating in these different oppurtunities, we can gain experience before looking for a job. The next thing that I founf the most unique about this school is the size. The small size allows students to make friends easily, stay on task, and get as much help as needed in classes!

I love the location of Aurora University! Being close to my home allows me to take classes while my children are in school but be close enough to get to them if they need me.

The uniqueness of Aurora University is the reason I chose to attend this school. It is the only school in the state of Illinois that was willing to work with me on my unusual combination of my major and minor. Aurora is willing to work with students in order for them to accomplish their goals, and I feel that is the most important thing in a university. Thanks to them, I will be versatile and competitive in my field.

What I found to be unique about Aurora University is the sense of small community on the campus. I loved the size of the school because I had gone to a pretty small high school, so I was not ready for a huge university. I loved the idea of being able to have one-on-one time with professors and that the enrollment was not a gigantic number - I'd be able to pass someone and at least know their first name or recognize them. The other schools I looked at did not have those traits.

The unique thing about Aurora University is my favorite part of the school. The size of the campus is small enough that the class sizes remind me of my high school class sizes. Not many colleges that I have looked at have a class size over a hundred or a thousand and being under thirty it makes it a lot easier to succeed in.

Aurora University offers an adult education program that allows adult students such as myself to continue pursuing their degree with class times scheduled to fit the working students schedule. Other Universities would have forced me to take a step back in my career in order to purse my degree. Aurora allows me to move forward with my career and my education goals.

Everything is more personal. People know eachother, there is someone is multiple classes, so there is always a recognizable face. You don't feel like you're thrown into a crowd of people to fend for yourself.

Aurora University has a close-knit community feel to it. As a small school, students are able to develop great relationships with their peers, professors, and others on campus. This is extremely beneficial, not only in terms of developing long-lasting relationships, but educationally as well. Because of the small size of AU, students are able to benefit from working closely with their professors. This helps with learning, but is also a great way to network and branch out for job possibilities in the future.
