Both of my oldest sons attended or are attending ASU and have had very positive experiences! I am a new transfer online student so having my son as an advocate and the advice from his experience has helped me a lot so far. I thought that the classes would be a lot more difficult than community college, but after breaking everything down and organinzing my class, it seems to be manageable and that encourages me to continue. I wish that I had known how to navigate better online as some of the requirements have been challenging and a little stressful!

Being a first-generation student doesn't mean you have a disadvantage, it means that you have the opportunity to start a new tradition. A positive and rewarding tradition. Don't be afraid to go to tutoring, instructor office hours, or to meet with your first-year success coach. Explore your options, nothing is set and stone. College is about finding out who you are, and who you want to become. Become the start of a tradition that will inspire someone else to join.

Before I came to ASU I wish I would have known how hard it would be to say goodbye to my friends and family. Family is everything to me and so are my friends, it was hard to say goodbye to them but I'm excited to see what ASU hold for me.

I wish I had known more about the subjects I am studying as it would have provided me with a better advantage than when I had originally came to school. I also wish I had known about the extensive use of computers in my classes as I would have tried to get my computer much earlier than I did.

Before I came to this school, I wish I had known everything was going to turn out fine. I was afraid I wouldn't make friends, no one would want to go to football games, or I wouldn't decide my major. But I've done all those things. Going to a new place made me doubt myself, but everything really does just fall into place.

I wish I understood how much money would be spent every semester so I would be better prepared.

I wish I had known how expensive fees would cost and that my major had an additional fee attched to it. I also wish i had known more about what types of classes are mainly offered at each campus.

There is nothing to do on the weekends - head out to Tempe. Get to know your classmates as they're almost all in the same dorm as you, so it's great for study groups.

The only thing that I regret not knowing when I came to ASU is what type of stores where around or what was near. I wish they had a brochure, map or something.
