Overall the school is pretty decent, the teachers are always available and ready to help. The schoolwork is pretty manageable both online and on campus. I guess it would be a good school to get your classes at a cheaper price than a 4-year university and use it to transfer or earn your associate's degree.

its a good school, they are very willing to help and genuinely want to see you succeed. They are actually a slower paced school but they very effective if you take the time and stay focused. They are a good school if you you're on a budget. also they're currently remodeling so im excited to se the end results.

STCC is an affordable college with an ever growing number of opportunities for current and past students. In the past month alone, I have gained access to services for internship opportunities, business card creation, and professional photos at no further cost than my already paid tuition. It has new facilities that are more inviting than the old and when staff are unsure, they go out of their way to help students find where they want to be.

STCC has a good database of knowledge especially for transfer students. The professors for the most part are awesome, understanding and they seem to really care about their students. STCC offers online, on campus or hybrid courses and also have a nice variety of schedules for people who need flexibility. Another plus is child care! They offer child care and night classes, as well as summer classes.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

    If I could go back and give myself advice on college, there are many things I would change. First i would have tried a lot harder in High school to be able to get in to more colleges right out of high school. Also, I would tell myself it is okay to start of at community college, taking the core classes there saved alot of money, and was a great way to ease in to the college experience. I would look in to colleges more as well, finding out as much information as possible, applying to college is a big deal, and so many people change their mind after going to a big expensive university for a year.

    The unique thing about my school is that it is a very clean and friendly campus. Almost, everyone is familiar with one another. Also, if someone is new to the school our school has what are Student Success leaders that are available to all in coming students who may need help at any time.

    The worst thing about my school would be the area in which it is in. It is considered to be in the "ghetto", but the campus is perfectly safe.

    Anyone should attend this school. They have so much to offer. All of your credits can be transfered to a different college if needed in the future and the school keeps up with the times and offeres up to date materials and state of the art equipment. They even offer classes for the young adult.

    My classmates are very hard working, and passionate about trying to succeed there ultimate goals of becoming someone important.

  7. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

    That I'm intrigued and excited, in a way, about returning back to school for something that has held my attention and interests over these past 14 years of my life. It'll be an interesting prospect to see who I meet and what I might accomplish with a degree under my belt.

  8. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

    Because there are no on-campus living arrangements, I have to drive to college every day. I live 45 minutes away, and thus have to wake up at 0530 everyday to make it for a 0740 class. Luckily, I have been able to move in at my cousin's house and now the drive is only 15 minutes. Still, the drive is annoying. I can't wait for the day when I wake up 30 minutes before class and don't have to rush to make it because the walk is only a minute long.

    I enjoyed going there. Very knowledge able staff and beautiful campus. I found the class schedule very flexible.

  11. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

    That despite the wrap people give it, it is in fact quite a good school. That "tagging" was infact incorrect. and I wish I could have gone earlier in my life. As well as all the actual help that's offered, that may or may not have been there 14 years ago.

    The ideal person that should attend STCC is someone who is motivated, driven, and dedicated in furthering thier options for thier future. STCC is a great school to graduate from, or can be a beneficial step in transferring to a college that offers what STCC cannot.Springfield Tech also can be an "eye opener," for students debating if school is the right thing for them. It gives you the taste of the responsibility, but also the support if you need an extra push in the right direction,your future.
