RU Regents is a diverse, welcoming community in the heart of a small city that offers opportunity, culture, and easy access to the surrounding serene countryside. Professors range from Doctoral candidates to a retired CFO of a Fortune 500 company - an RU alumna herself! Resources abound, whether you need healthcare assistance, tutoring, or career-planning guidance. Situated in the heart of Rockford, whether you want to live on campus or commute, there are options for all!

I am only starting my second semester at Rockford University after transferring from a local community college. I love the small class sizes and how dedicated the professors are about wanting their students to succeed. The transition from community college to Rockford University was very easy, and I am forever grateful to the many professors and other students that I have/have yet to meet at RU.

Rockford University is a great campus with easy access with professors, students, coaches, and so on. They have everything you need to succeed on campus. whether you need help on Math or English, Rockford University provides with tutors and professors. Since the school has a pretty small population for a university, it is relatively easy to seek assistance. Everything is walking distance, so no need to have to drive or run far on the other side of campus when everything is near each other. Everyone here is very proactive and ongoing with each other as well. Overall, great school, and as a freshmen trying to adjust into the college life, Rockford university has helped made it a smooth transition.

Abigail - 06/06/2019

I love the campus set-up and there are many activities to participate in and groups to join. The academic atmosphere is exactly what I was looking for in a college. Some of the professors that I have had were not as professional as I had hoped, but the material that they taught was still appropriate to the course they were teaching. There is a lot of diversity on campus which I like because it is different from the atmosphere that I am used to going to school in. Overall, I think that Rockford University is a very qualified, professional, and greatly operated university.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

The advice I would give myself would be to join more clubs and organizations instead of just playing sports and waiting until college to do so. These would have helped me not only in gaining more scholarship aid from my current school, but also to learn much more. I would also tell myself to be interested in what other people were planning to do after high school because I had never set a goal for myself and perhaps other people's plans could have influenced me.

  5. What's unique about your campus?

Actually, I attend Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, but I did not see my school or city in the survey, so I picked Rockford College, because that is the closest school to my home. ( I grew up in Rockton). I have been answering the survey questions based on my experience at Loras College. I love Loras College because it fits me like a glove, and I know that is where I'm supposed to be. I've had some amazing professors so far, and I've been given great opportunities. The friends I have now I will have for life.
