Great school and very affordable!

Caleb - 04/13/2022

It is a great, cheap option for getting an associate's degree and getting it for free through their Promise Program. The sports are not a big deal but the art programs are quite big especially the well-staffed, well-taught film program. It allows for students to grow and learn skills applicable in the future.

Haley - 07/12/2021

It's a fantastic place to learn for great prices. Many courses are well set up to be taken remotely, which offers flexibility. Students can filter courses by whether or not a textbook is required. The administration is always trying to understand student needs and address them, including offering chromebooks to students who needed them during the pandemic. Many of the professors really care about what they do!

Madison - 08/07/2020

The commitment of professors at this college to inspire students is incredible. Classrooms are filled with eager to learn students and helpful professors. Though some professors may seem cold at first, you will warm up to them and come to find that they want your success as badly as you do. This college has many opportunities for group involvement and bonding. Classes are cheap and are not overcrowded. The only thing which needs improvement is the ability to access counselors by appointment or walking into the office.

  8. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The worst thing about saddleback is the parking situation and the abilty to get the classes you want. The parking situation is really bad because most of all the students drive to school. This is because they are no on campus housing because it is a community college. To get parking at the school you need to arrive around two hours before class. They are so many students at saddleback that the classes fill up so fast and if you do not have priority registration you will most likely not get the classes you want. However, I have priority registration.

The most frustrating thing about my school would be the confusion in setting up an Academic Plan for transfer. A student must complete an Academic Plan (MAP) before registering for their 16th unit.I have created a MAP for transfer and gone to counseling to have it approved, and after reviewing my Map they tell me it is complete. When I go to the transfer center seeking advice on what classes I should be taking in order to transfer they tell me that several of the classes I was planning on taking do not transfer.
