My overall opinion about Menlo college is that they for sure changed and updated the campus from when I first attended. They have excelled more in our specific "major" experiences, which is a plus. However just like anything other college they do have to change and fix a few things. Will not go into to much detail but for sure some staffing, policy changes, as well as academic fee's, but again my experience has been good but it could've of always been better. Thank-you, Menlo college.

Menlo is a very diverse and welcoming school. Almost all of the professors are really awesome and want their students to pass their classes. My accounting professor has a FaceTime set up that I can call anytime of the day if I have any questions. Every professor at Menlo has office hours, so you can meet with them if needed! There is always the option of the writing center, which consists of professors and peer students. You can schedule a meeting with them and they will help you with your papers and essays! And all of that for free! I really love the community of Menlo, since the school is so small, Menlo really feels like a second family to me!

Jadalee - 01/07/2020

Menlo College is a small private school which is great for students who enjoy a concentrated learning environment. Students get to know their professors well and vice versa. Since Menlo College is a small private school, faculty create an activity night at least once a week free and available to all students like Tavern night and Monday night snacks.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Most importantly, if I could go back in tme and talk to myself about college, I would say to not stress so much about the application process! I took AP classes, studied for the ACT and SAT and made sure I turned in my apps super early. Looking back now, I realize that whatever decisions I felt like I could have or should have made, what classes or activities I should have done or been more active in, I ended up in the right place. High school students are pressured so much these days by counselors, teachers, parents, friends etc. to "choose the right school" because that will be your whole future. It doesn't matter what school one ends up at, what matters is how well you do when you get there. If one is a good student, focused organzed and did well in high school, one will be a good college student too. Menlo College was not my first choice and I ended up here by a twist of fate. It has worked out well for me and the "everything happens for a reason" mentality rang true in my situation and it will for others too.

If I could go back and give myself advice as a high school senior about college, I would tell myself that the most important thing about college is to be thoroughly organized, systematic, keep on top of your academics, pay attention to details, and observe carefully what your professors expect and give it to them as best as you can. Most of all, take care of your health, get physical exercise, participate and believe in yourself. Last but not least, I would say to enjoy my college experience!

  14. What are the academics like at your school?

The academics are average. Some classes are really difficult whereas others are more on the easy side. If you put in the time and effort you can pass all your classes and learn a lot. If you are a psychology student, the best and most difficult professor to take is Dr. Hager. For Accounting, Professor Little is known to help many students find and achieve their accounting goals. Because classes are usually small, class participation is expected in the majority of classes. The biggest class I have taken was no more than 35 students and the smallest was 4.

The typical stereotype is that Menlo contains a lot of jocks, aka dumb athletes. However, that is not true. Even though half of Menlo students are athletes, they are not dumb.
